I have heard (read) all the advice about buying a heavy box blade and I bought the heaviest I could afford but sometimes I need a bit more weight. Has anyone ever added removable weight that isn't just ugly. ;)
I like my tractor pretty ya know...

Ideas.

I have seen pics of a BB that had a bracket on which the owner hung suitcase weights--normally hung on the front bumper. It did not look ugly. I also have seen a BB with several "pins" on which were stacked or hung weight lifting weights. It looked a bit odd, but it sure worked. I would recommend the cast iron weights rather than concrete. Any way that is my experience.

I've had 5 suitcase weights given to me, all I have to do is go pick them up.
Problem is, they are all different.

I wish I weren't so, as my son says, ****.

I just hang (4) 42lb suitcase weights on it like so (2 on each side).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

Can you make a rack on the back to hold and house the mis-matched weights and then make a box around it so it just looks like a square (naturally painted to match the box!)?

Well, let's back up a step here. What is your boxblade not doing - that makes you feel that more weight is the solution?

Extra weight helps the box take a bigger bite especially in hard ground where without the extra weight the box will just scratch the surface.
I do the same as Runner and just hang the suit cases on.

I have some square plastic buckets ( kitty litter pails.. about 5g each )

I filled them with concrete.. 4 of them will fit on my box blade. should add over 300#.. etc.

I own a dura-grader implement which has holes in the sides so I can bolt
extra wieghts to it if needed, but it cuts very hard material without the use
of wieghts. If you have a drill you can drill two 5/8 inch holes in each side of
your box blade then buy you about a 10ft piece of 1" x 4" flat bar. cut the flat
bar up in lenths about the lenth of the side of your box blade and drill the same holes in the flat bar. then all you have to do is bolt as many lenths on it required to do the job and it would look nice if pianted.
