A couple pics I took of the way rail is laid...The rail comes in by a string of flat cars and unloaded off them. Pretty neat to watch.

I watched them install some new rail next to my plant one day. It is amazing at how many different machines and workers are involved. I really liked the loaders that drove on the tracks. They used them to pick up other machines, then the men would spin the machines around to use on the other side of the track. JC

The Tennessee Coal, Iron & Railroad Company was a big rail producer for many years, so I bet that is where your rail was made. I'm not 100% sure about the 1910, but it is probably the date.

Merry Christmas All!

Wow, this is an amazing circle...

I couldn't figure out the "Tennessee" marking on the rail; I haven't heard of them as a steel producer. Obviously you have, and the proof is the rail. The really funny part is that company's role in a financial panic that I just read about - very appropriate for current events - and this artifact has somehow brought the story full circle for me.
It's amazing what you can learn on TBN. Thanks for the post!
