I've done some modifications to my Woods box blade and I am trying to find a match for the Woods pumpkin colour paint.

I heard someone saying that his dealer carried cans from Woods. I haven't heard back from anyone at Woods yet and I've never seen anything like this around here. There are not many Woods dealers left around here anyway to try to order one through.

Anyone know how I can match to this colour? If your dealer has a supply of the colour matching paint for Woods, do you think you could pick one up and send it to me if I pay you for it and shipping?

I've tried the local hardware stores - Lowes, Home depot - and can't seem to find anything that really matches.

Last year I started to paint my Woods rake and found it to be a unique color. I think the only paint that will work is Woods and I know of many dealers in the US that carry it. Any dealer can get it. A quick e-mail to Woods should find someone in Canada that is a dealer and either carries it or can get it. I'd call if they don't answer the e-mail.

Plan "B" would be to go to a store that can mix paint such as an auto supply house or maybe even a big box store. If you have a color sample (sales flier) , the auto paint store can match it. If you go this way get an acrylic enamel rather than just plain enamel and it will last longer and look better.

You are probably right sixdogs. The dealer I got my boxblade from took forever to get the blade in. I guess I will try to locate an alternative. None seem to be close though. I was thinking that I might be able to get one shipped but I'm sure there are restrictions in getting paint in cans shipped.

A local Woods (also Case/IH, Kubota) dealer carries Woods "Burnt Orange" paint in quarts. It comes pre-thinned for spraying. (Too thin in my estimation) It doesn't get very good coverage. I'm not at all impressed with Woods paint, factory or apply it yourself. Any GOOD automotive paint retailer should be able to computer match the color with a sample chip to go off of.

I just recently bought a quart to re-paint a Woods rear blade that's shedding it's paint after 2 years of non use (sitting INSIDE at that)

Hmm.. automotive paint reseller. Didn't think about that. I'll look in the yellow pages. Thanks!

No probably about it. When I needed some Kverneland plow parts, people in the US wanted about $600 for them. Plus shipping.
I checked Quebec where they are more common and with freight and duty the same parts were $250. The price was one thing but in PQ they not only knew what I was taling about but wanted my business. Worked for me.

Same Kverneland plow colors I had mixed at an outo paint store and got in acrylic enamel. Worked great for 1/3 the price of factory.

I've not been able to find an auto paint store in the yellow pages around here. Lots of body shops. Maybe I will go ask.

The information I've been reading on the internet seems to suggest that as long as I get primer made for metal, I should be able to get acrylic paint mixed from any household paint store.

All the John Deere dealers by me carry Woods touch up spray cans.

If you can't find the Woods original paint,or it's too big a hassle, there is an option. The major auto parts store in your area supplying body shops will have kind of a paint camera that can generate a formula to get the desired color from your sample. You can get that mix and spray it reduced with a spray gun,or the store can probably fix you up with a one time use unit. Something to consider.I've got three Woods pieces and will be in the same situation myself.good Luck!
