For a Taskmaster Scout with a BK6N backhoe with subframe, are the 2 pieces supposed to be attached together in any way? If I install as in the photo and put the support legs down, when the legs are on the ground, they lift the backhoe off of the subframe and the subframe does nothing. Then what is the point of having the subframe? Do you still use the 3 point mount with the subframe? Or do the 3 point arms need to be adjusted downwards so that they push down on the backhoe to keep it on the subframe when the legs are put down? Also the round tube on the back is a bit narrow and tends to slip off off on one side or the other side of the subframe bars when the legs go down.

Welcome to TBN!! You are right in that when you put the BH onto the subframe on your tractor you should have to put a pin or latch that will keep it firmly attached to the subframe and the tractor. When you put the stabilizers down you should be able to lift the whole back end of the tractor through the subframe, not just lift the BH off the subframe--that is what you would do to remove the BH from the tractor. Judging from your pic it seems to me that the pin hole in the bracket should have a matching hole in the subframe and it should have a pin in it.

Very few tractors have down pressure with the 3 pt--usually it is hyd lift and gravity lower. If the hoe is new purchased from a dealer, then you ought to talk to them about the situation. It is NOT right.

Thanks for the info. No dealer involved. There is no hole in the subframe that the backhoe can match to. I'm guessing that I have to make something myself that attaches the 2 pcs together. Maybe some kind of pin/plate combination that uses one of the existing holes in the backhoe, then drill a new hole into the subframe and connect the 2 pcs with 2 plates on left and right side of each subframe bar.

Can you take more photos, of the Hoe and frame apart? It looks fairly new...

Attached hoe and took new pics. Other photo was an old one, but show the same setup. In looking at it again, maybe the round tube should be UNDER the subframe bars and the lower links of the 3 point on TOP of the subframe, maybe then the lowest mounting hole on the backhoe will line up with the subframe bar and a new hole can be drilled and the 2 pcs attached together? That would make more sense because otherwise, why are the small bars welded to the top of the end of the subframe bars? They can hold the pin in place?? Now they don't do anything. If the round tube goes under the frame, it is still rather short. I would have made it a few inches longer, but if the frame pinned, the tube should also not slip off any more.

I was also thinking that the round tube should have been under... That's a unique setup. The backhoe looks like it has several "adjustments" that could be made to adjust it to fit the sub-frame to mount several scenarios (multiple holes in a diamond shape). What the story on the backhoe? Did you just buy it from someone else? I tried to look up the model number and got nothing...

I tried it with the tube off and it looks better. Now I can drill holes through the subframe and put the pin in the lower hole. Then both pcs will be attached together. Now just need to figure if this is the correct way to set it up and figure a way to get the tube back on. Actually, it might not be needed anymore at all. Are you supposed to use the subframe and 3 point at the same time or just one OR the other, not both to mount the backhoe? I bought it, along with some other implements as a sample and possibly to sell.

My brackets are similar, but not the same. I have a total of 4 brackets that mount to the tractor. Two for the front that bolt to the bell housing and two for the back that bolt to the rear axle housing. I don't have the 3 rd set. I did remove the tube and drill holes in the subframe and put bolts in. This seems to be the logical what to put it all together. The legs can now lift the whole tractor off of the ground and the subframe holds the backhoe! Maybe I am missing the last, rear bracket?
