Does anyone have any more information on this? There are a lot of rumors flying around.

THanks for sharing that. Was not aware that Bush Hog was hurting, but no surprise there really just about every other company is hurting in some way. I had been contemplating ordering a Bush Hog Squealer SQ160 in John Deere green through a local dealer. I guess I will just wait it out and see what happens with them now. I hope they can pull through this and get back on solid financial ground....

Looks kind of dark for Bush Hog's future. My 6' bush hog mower is only about 30 years old. They shouldn't have built it so well, then I would have bought another. I am surprised they are in trouble. I would have expected the first 9 months of 2008 to have been a great year. With the severe downturn in the construction, realty, and farming sectors, I bet potential buyers are few to none.

Just goes to show that you can never tell what is really going on behind closed doors. Terrible thing for all those families when jobs are so hard to come by. I hope things work out. I am sure that a bigger company will come and buy them up and save the name/product.

I have a hard time with people not understanding why this is happening when they go out and buy similar products made overseas. They seem quite proud to have beaten out a deal on a USA made product and brag about their stuff. Then the USA made producer goes belly up and they feel so sad for the company and all the wokers. Ever hear of not being able to have your cake and eat it too? They always comeback with money, quality, or features issues, but the sad fact is that eventually its going to come around to your company, bank, ranch, restaurant, trucking or construction job. That's YOUR quality, cost, abilities and skill set now too. Since they have not been hit yet they think they are immune to the realization that the pond is drying up. Well, I've got news for them: They may be the last to go but the longest to ever get back up on their feet when the wrecking ball swings back.

While I understand your statement and feelings, what you say is certainly a contradiction. Not buying Bush Hog will ensure their inventories do not adjust and will delay the reopening of these plants. The best thing you can do to ensure Bush Hog's long life and continued existence is to buy their products.

Again, I understand your feelings. You have to decide if you want to take the chance or hold off. It's just that if enough people hold off, it will guarantee Bush Hog will fail. I hope the Crown family can make adjustments to inventory and get workers back to work. I feel confident that they will snap back in the springtime when the sales cycles ramp up.

Yikes! I own a bush hog tiller and love it. It's very well made and had no problems with it at all. I used it on my bx24 and my father's MF 1250. I hope bush hog finds a way to stay alive for years to come since I like thier products. With economy today, I just hope they can hold on and stay.

As far as the Bush Hog tiller goes.... it's not made by Bush Hog.

There are only two companies that I know of that manufacture tillers and sell them here in the States. King Kutter and one other smaller type company.

Everyone else.... Bush Hog, Woods, Land Pride, Rhino, Deere.... they all buy tillers overseas and import them.

Someone above mentioned buying American equipment.... just wanted people to know that some of the stuff that they think is American, isn't.

Land Pride makes their tillers in Abilene, Kansas and does not import them.
