Grapple WR Long grapple

Who in here has a WR Long grapple & root rake and how well do you like it? Can you offer any pros or cons to it? At present I am trying to decide between Long and Anbo.

I have the RGB2 48" and I love it. My original intent was for help in clearing up brush from opening up some acreage, however, like my backhoe, I keep finding new uses for it. I also opted for the Long electric switch. I love this also as I use it for my snowplow power angle. As for cons, my only gripe is the time it takes to switch it out with my bucket. But since I do not have the quick attach system, it nothing that will change. It take at most five minutes, maybe ten if I am having a bad day lining up the pin holes.

I have the Q attach and the third function (electric valve). I also have a power angle snow blade. It seems like I can not find enough snow to plow.

I also have a WRLong RGB2 60" grapple. It is a gem. I have found no problems what so ever. I am not trying to steer you away from the WRLong but there is a new player in the grapple market (Markham) that builds a light duty grapple at a hard to beat price.

I have the RGB2, 60 inch grapple, with the WR Long 3rd function valve. No complaints at all with it. Also have their 4in1 bucket, 72 inch.

Some CUT owners do buy and like the Anbo's but those grapples are buy and large way overbuilt for the tasks a CUT owner would use them for. The high priced steel in Anbo grapples is also harder to repair if you do bend something.

Consider the grapple weight too. You probably have about 2500lbs lift capacity and so a lighter grapple will leave you with more net lift.

Even the WRLongs are probably a bit heavier built (the RGB, not the RGB2) for a CUT than really necessary. A WRLong RGB2 60 should match with your tractor nicely.

Bottom line is that CUTs are not designed like skidsteers and generally don't do the same work. Most of the grapple companies build primarily for skidsteers and only a few of the companies have really adapted to the upsurge in interest by CUT owners. Lighter duty grapples have held up very well in use even with fairly powerful CUT loaders. My grapple weighs 280lbs (Millonzi) and I have in three years managed to inflict only cosmetic and entirely repairable damage to it despite pretty aggressive use.

I talked with WR Long today and was qouted a price of 2600 with 250 for S&H but they will not sell directly to me and their nearest dealer is over 100 miles way. So would say that they are out of the picture.

Try Markham. Another TBN member with a Kubota M6800 just ordered a souped up 48 inch grapple from them that cost way less than that delivered to your home. They also have 60 inch double grapple versions if you prefer but the 48 is really a nice grapple on a CUT.

I purchased a 48 inch grapple from Markham this summer for $850 delivered. It is built very well and can handle anything that my T2220 can deliver to it. I would do it again in a second.
