Does anyone own or have experience with a Bush Hog TD-1100,or a Landpride AFM4011.These are 11 ft. Tri Deck finish mowers.I'm looking for any pros/cons on either mower. Also wondering if a Kubota L3010 is enough tractor to handle one of these units.

Just browsing around and saw your post. Disbelief that nobody has replied! I am just looking into Kubota and am a novice in that area. Is that a 30 HP tractor you have? If so I don't believe it will pull and perform with an 11' finish mower. My experience comes from using a 6' Woods finish mower on my Ford 1900, 33 HP tractor. My tractor handles that size well , but don't believe I (or the tractor) would want more than 7' on it. Hope that helps .

Hi Guys,

The L3010 is a 32HP with 24 PTO HP with the hydro tranny. More PTO HP if you have GST or direct trans. It is rated for a 6 foot hog or finish like most of the L series I think. It can handle a 7 foot finish but I would stick with a 6 foot hog. My Kubota dealer had some batwing mower liturature that I saw and the smallest was a 12 foot tri-deck span rated for 25 PTO HP. Could the L3010 HST do it? Yeh, probably, but I would opt for at least a L3410 or larger to use one of those. Or give up HST if you want the cheaper 3010. I have a L3010HST and love it.

I did see a local hospital using a JD855 with a batwing and was surprised. Don't know if it was HST or geared.

The only time I've found PTO power to be a factor mowing is when hacking through a sapling field where you are cutting lots of wood instead of grass. That's the only time the engine strains or starts to slow. When cutting vegitation (grass, weeds etc.) the engine is never heavily loaded.

I don't think you need to worry about PTO power if you are moving grass. I'd buy more based on the size and weight mower that the tractor can handle.

Thanks for the responces, the brochures on both of these mowers calls for a minimum of 30 H.P.Now,it does'nt say if thats PTO H.P/Gross H.P.or Net H.P.I would imagine that an even lower H.P. tractor would run one of these mowers, but not very efficiently. My dealer is new to the business and has never sold one of these mowers. He says a L3010 should handle it,but if I take the plunge,I'm going to shot for a L3410.More power, with not much more weight.I'd also like to stay with a Hy-dro trans,as most of the usage is finish mowing.

Mike, I believe the implement's horsepower ratings are based on PTO horsepower.
