Grapple Kioti Grapple control

I've got to get my fuel injector pump replaced so I wanted to also investigate getting a control stick/valve added to work a grapple. I do have hydro lines run from the back of the tractor to the front which I can control using the A/B lever by my right leg...this is less than ideal...the dealer here says Kioti offers a product (#322-013) which will add a second stick next to the loader control stick and ties into the power beyond valve....this will open and close the valve instead of using the current A/B stick which gets stuck in the open and closed position as the A/B lever is really designed for attachments like a back hoe.

Anybody aware of what this "2nd stick" is? The cost is $400, I have no idea if this is reasonable or not. I know some of you have a button on the loader control.

I got my remote valve kit from WR Long - - they were familiar with Kioti and only sell to dealers, but it works great - no extra joystick just a button or toggle on a new knob on my loader control stick - open/neutral/close - works perfect and highly recommended.

I second the WR Long piece. Rock switch on replacement stick is the nuts.

This is a guess...My Kioti DK40se has a standard remote control valve (A OFF B) but also has a second remote valve that is the same configuration but is spring loaded so I can feather the hydraulics rather than just go ON OFF. Given the list price of $400 I'm guess that is what the dealer is talking about. That price is too low for a diverter valve or electric over hydraulic valve.

I'd say it would work well for control a grapple but it would not be a joystick mounted lever or button but rather would be placed somewhere near the FEL joystick so you could drop your hand to reach it.

...rick implies that this new stick will not only open and close the grapple but also lift and dump the bucket...which I'm not so sure i'm understanding him correctly....

I think Rick is describing adding an open centered valve (for the grapple) to the power beyond of the FEL valve. That is a simple way of adding hydraulic power to the grapple but it would still involve a separate control lever. Rick had earlier in the thread talked about what sounds like an electric over hydraulic valve to control the grapple but the power beyond discussion is somewhat distinct from that. The open centered valve would be controlled either by a manual lever (typical) or, (this is what Rick might have been implying) by an electrical switch integrated into the FEL joystick (electric over hydraulic). The manual lever would be much simpler and less expensive. Your point that "the new stick will not only open and close the grapple but also lift and dump the bucket" is actually describing an electric over hydraulic setup. That is the best set up but it costs lots of $$$ compared to the manual lever.

I've never looked at the details of electric over hydraulic switches so I don't know if they can be used on both open and closed valve types. If I were you I'd just give Rick a call to clarify further.
