Mayor,

It looks like Wallenstein has changed their numbering system. It looks like the FX90 (9,000 lb pull, 30-80 hp, 795 lbs in weight) is the closest match to the FX8000 (8,000 lb pull, 20-40 hp, 575 lbs in weight). I did a search and at the following site:

AgDealer.com

found one FX90 for $3,300 (NEW) in Pennsylvania.

There was another one listed in Quebec (NEW) for $2,650 US Dollars:

Les Equipements Dominic Bruneau

I'm thinking you can get a better deal for a used unit than what you're looking at.
Good luck - I've been wanting a logging winch for a couple of years now. If you do a fair amount of logging, it should make your work much easier and safer.

I have a 6" Wallenstein 3PH Chipper and a Wallenstein 3PH vertical Logsplitter. For what it's worth, I've been very happy with the construction of these implements and have had no trouble with either one.

I have an FX90. I've never used a Farmi but understand they are pretty much the same in terms of quality and function. It works well. When first delivered it suffered from a poorly adjusted clutch but warantee took care of that. When it's pulling hard with just the blade holding it tends to pull the tractor backwards. Digging in with the bucket too holds okay.

I am currently looking at a FX65. The dealer will sell it for $3050, I pick up. I have considered Fransgard 3507 and can get it for $3200 I pick up. I know there is a shop in PA that is selling the Wallesntein FX65 for $2900 but I figure the difference is worth saving me shipping or a 4 hour drive round trip.
Has anyone used FX65's and have comments? I was leaning towards the Fransgard but my dealer says he has better luck with the Wallenstein and can service / warrenty better.. I may buy this Saturday so comments appreciated. I am putting this on a NHTC34DA...

I was told (not sure if it's true) that the Wallenstien uses bushings rather than bearings in some key areas?

There has to be some way that they have cheapened it compared to the Farmi and Norse etc....

Or just lower transport and importation cost building it in the USA vs overseas.

Is it built in the US?

According to the web site they are made in Canada, eh. I have seen the one link that compares the Wallenstein to the Farmi but what what I can tell the wallenstein uses bearings....

Welcome - Wallenstein
