Rotary Cutter Thieves! Bush Hog 286 PTO Driveline Shaft Help Needed

Have a Bush Hog 286 6' rotary cutter with a slip clutch. Well, it seems if someone decided to "borrow" the tractor half of my PTO driveline shaft. The part that attaches to the tractor with the shaft and plastic sleeve is missing. The half that attaches to the implement with the slip clutch is still there.

The Bush Hog front half of the shaft is very expensive. Is there a cheaper way to get a replacement half or build my own?

Sorry your tractor was vandalized. Try Tractor Supply, they probably have a PTO shaft that you can make work. If they do, it will almost certainly cost less than than what Bush Hog would charge you. Oh yeah, hope this thief gets caught too.

maybe you can advertise the other half for sale, and see if the thieves call you to buy it. Why in the world would anyone steal half a PTO shaft.

Ditto TSC.. they have a good selection of square and sometimes 'lemon' shafts pieces, as well as sleaves..
