Got the 4in1 a few days ago boy is it nice!! Can't belive I ever got a long with out one for so long. One thing I did add was 4 1" rods that were sharpin and wedled on each side with 2" sticking out to act like like teeth to grab logs. With these you can use the 4in1 like forks almost. Its great for moving brush to! Almost for got the tooth bar, with this little gem you have got little figners on your bucket to pick and pluck things, you know roots logs stumps sticks ect. Mark was right agin another invaluable tool!

Sounds to me Rich like your getting all your toys mounted. How are those tires working out? As well as you thought? Ammo boxes mounted yet? So many things to do so little time.

Great to hear that the bucket works as expected. It's on my want list but pretty far down the only thing stopping me from getting one is my wallet!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Well Gordon the bucket is GREAT!!, and the tires,I brushed a trail out [6'] through a bog on sunday, you can push a stick down about 1.5' and never hit bottom, we got a iron mule stuck their 4 yrs. ago, its bad but it has grass and small trees growing on it now which is what i cut. The tractor stayed on top and the few times it did chew through it still floated on top. Now i still don't have any balst in the tires, just 150 lbs. of iron on each side still wating for the rim guard. The front tires make the bigest diff. they just don't sink like the R1s and don't dig up the ground on hard turns and the 4in 1 is much heavyer then the stock one. Much better traction then R4s big time diff. I think after i put 600 lbs. in each tire the traction will be even better, how ever Im not sure how it will work in the bog. I will put on the winch first and find a good tree and see if she will sink. No ammo boxes yet , still looking for ideas on where to put the chain saw?????????

Gordon forgot to ask whats up with your tractor?? Still in the body shop? What are you using now? After looking at the under side of yours are you planning to mount a skid plate on the under side?

Nope she's done at the body shop can't even tell. I'm still using the old girl L3750 still running strong Thank goodness because I've got more grade work than I can handle right now. When it rains it pours. I'm holding off on getting the new machine until I finish or should I say start two timber jobs. It was a tough decision but I'm going to have no cab on the new machine and also have alot of add ons to do to it and I just don't have any down time right now. I was grading a drive in the rain this afternoon just to try to keep up with my overbooked schedule. Thankgoodness for lights!!
Yes I'm going to put a good skid plate on the new one among other things. Man I want the new one so bad but I know it's there and I also know it's the smart thing to do--wait that is to get the new one on site. I sure will miss the cab would have been soaked tonight on the new tractor.

Glad to hear that you are getting some seat time on the new tractor.
Take a saw blade cover and cut slots into it mount it to the rops with two hose clamps use a bungee to keep it from bouncing out of the holder. Just a thought. Will it fit or ride right over the toolbox you mounted behind the seat?

Hey Rich,

It sounds like you have built a tractor to do a job that I may be doing in the future. Lots of mud! Could you give me some info on the tires and winch? What 4-1 did you go with too?

Flyn, tires are Michlins XM 27 its their answer to a R4 tire. There are photos on here some where of my tractor and Mark's that both have the same tires. I have atched a photo. the bucket is a Long and the winch is a farmie used for skiding logs, but it will get you unstuck to[simle]
Rich
ps. if you go to the archives theres loads of stuff on buckets, tires and such.

Could you send a picture of your 4 in 1 bucket setup (or direct me to manufacturer's website)? Not to be ignorant, but is a 4 in 1 bucket a simple upgrade from a FEL, or does it require special mounting hardware, frame, or extra SCV?

FlynG & Bradey - The 4-in-1 bucket is made by Long. It attaches just like a regular Kubota bucket, but requires an extra hydraulic valve and hoses to operate it.

The tires are Michelin XM27 R-4's.

Check out the pics on my "L4310 enhancements" thread on the "Kubota Owning" discusson. I think all the questions both of you had are answered there, but it may take you a while to wade through all of it.
