I bought a Countyline a couple of weeks ago already bent top arms and lower hitch pins I am not impressed at all,Had an International mfg box blade that I used with a SAME Solar 60 and never bent anything on the unit.
AS far as being powder coating it's only good if you have a good surface prep, a poor surface prep will cause the powder coat to peal in large sections.

I too was going to buy a countryline here in southern maine, I live in northern maine and was going to drive down and pick up a 5' box blade....In my heart I really wanted the 5' boxblade made for John deere to put on the back of my 2320 with the I match. Local Deere dealer started at $1200.00, I told them they were crazy. We haggled over the price for a week.....bottom line I bought the JD box blade today for $800.00 total delivered in my garage. After looking at it tonight I can see that there are some parts that are much more heavyduty, then on the Countryline. The JD box blade also scrapes both ways....So I'm tickled for the price. I think I made the right choice....and If I need parts I can get them at my local JD dealer

Stopped by TSC today to check out the 6' hinged box blades they show on their website. Then only had the cheaper models out (Tilton, NH). Checking the specs on the hinged ones shows a weight comparable to landprides 6'. Cant seem to find a good 6' used anywhere. Besides, the prices that Ive seen 4 and 5 footers used go for, $829 for the TSC wouldnt be too bad.

I looked at a 6' CountyLine BB this weekend at my local TSC (Wise, VA). I had already purchased a used MF BB, but I wanted to compare. The welds looked okay to me, but I'm no expert. What I found to be the biggest difference was the overall weight. I have to strain pretty hard to even budge the MF. The CountyLine I could move a lot easier. So, if sheer mass counts for anything, the CountyLine isn't all that great.

I'll add my experience here regarding Countryline and KK from TSC. I went up to the Milford NH store today and bought a King Kutter labeled 6ft tiller. It was parked right next to a 5 foot Countryline and I had five or ten minutes to compare the two. Bottom line is that the difference is one or two decals. They are otherwise absolutely identical. I called KK customer service just to confirm and they agreed that was the only difference. They come off the KK assembly line at the same time with identical specs and just get different decals.

I also looked at the KK website to compare their pro vs standard tillers but they also appear to be identical even down to the shipping weight.

Price on the KK 6ft tiller was listed at $1849. I inquired whether there might be a sale coming up and the manager looked into it. No sale coming up but he gave me a coupon for $100 off which was nice. The tiller is now in my driveway on the trailer and I'll be playing hooky tomorrow to test it out.

I also saw that TSC has Farm Force equipment as well as Countryline. Specifically I looked at a six foot harrow from each. No comparison. The Countryline had a much heavier built box frame while the Farm Force had lighter gauge angle frame even though they seemed to use the same discs.

I was at TSC today. They had CountyLine tillers that looked just like the old KK2 tillers and were even painted the same yellow (not "CountyLine" orange).

On the TSC website under the description of the 6' CountyLine rototiller they had the following picture posted (http://www.tractorsupply.com/wcssto...ontAssetStore/images/products/600/2127125.jpg). Oopps! Maybe just an accident but like I said the CountyLine tiller looked just like the KK2 tiller to me.

[ snip...] According to the TSC rep the only difference between the KKII and Tarter Gate is the paint: Tarter Gate uses a powder coat on their tillers.

That might explain why the CountyLine unit I saw today had a better finish than the typical KingKutter tillers which were always scratched, flaking, and rusting. The TSC store I was at was in Arkansas so maybe not all TarterGate units are going to the "North".

I dunno about that one....I had been reading about the supposed switch to Tarter Gate here on TBN but the TSC that just opened up here in Oxford a month ago had about 6 tillers in stock of various widths, all labeled KingKutter, when I went to speak to the MGR about a 6 footer (they sold the 2 6' units they had within the first week of the store being open) he said he had 3 more on order...I asked him about branding and he said they would be KingKutters, sure enough, when I went last Saturday they had 2 shiny new KingKutters...Here at this TSC, Tillers are KingKutter and everything else is "CountyLine"
I guess it didnt end up mattering to me, I pulled the trigger on a 72" Sovema tiller at a great price...

Looks like the information given to me by the TSC people was wrong. I visited the Chichester, NH TSC yesterday and they had a good assortment of tillers, and all were by King Kutter.

I think there are regional differences and inconsistencies. The Merrimack NH store has only Countyline badged tillers. The Milford store had both King Kutter and Countyline tillers right next to each other. I did not see any Farm Force tillers advertized by TSC at all , only some disc harrows.

Island, I was at the merrimack store last weekend getting welding rods. The tillers definately looked like KK to me. Real nice looking units.
