I was recently given this plow:

I helped my neighbor guy go and fetch a Case VA tractor and this came with it, he did not want/need it.
I think that I could use it, if I can figure out how to properly mount it.

It has pins for the lower links but it's been a bit jury rigged, I think.
Rather than having a regular top link mount there is a rod with two springs, and a sleeve in between. On the sleeve is an 'eye'.

I have a Mahindra tractor with a Cat1 3pt and I'd like to use this plow to do the initial work on about 4 acres of pasture that needs to be started over. I'd like to plow it all up and then till it prior to dragging, rolling and planting.

Anyone recognize the brand? I can find no 'tags' etc.

I'd appreciate any help.

All I can say is...YOU LUCKY DEVIL!:)

There are lots or very resourceful folks here on TBN so I'm sure you will get good advise. I wold say to study pictures of TPH plows to see how they are attached. You may have to fab up a mount for the top link but that won't be difficult.

The plow has been used recently.

From what can be seen the previous owner has kept part of the hitch up to the tractor system. Perhaps it was a custom type frame that also had other uses for him.

The threaded rod sleeve eye looks like it needs something solid to fasten to so it can be used to adjust the level and then you need something for the middle link on the three point to attach to. The springs may have given a Little flex if something solid was hit.

It also looks like it did have coulters at one time.

Be prepared for a bumpy ride when you are smoothing down the freshly ploughed pasture:D

Okay, so I was messing with the plow today and made some changes but still don't have the toplink mount figured out, yet.

I went and looked at the tractor/hitch setup that came on the Case VA that this plow was used with, what a mess, but I guess that it worked and that's what's important sometimes.

Here is a photo attached to my tractor, with the lower links attached.
I removed the pins from the large holes below them, the nuts were turned into the holes, it's amazing that the pins didn't pull through!

Part of this has been cut off with a torch just above the lower link mounts.

Here is a photo of the spring "top link" piece:

This piece that looks like a modified top link mount was part of the hitch system off the Case VA...

It was actually semi-horizontal and I guess that the sprung 'top link' was attached to it.

Any ideas?
Recommendations?
