Pictures of disc hillers

Someone wanted me to post some pictures of the disc hillers when I got them set up, so here they are. I got the potatoes planted today. The BX2350 got a good workout today. Seven hours of quality seat time today. I think my dad was really impressed by the amount of work this little tractor will do. He has a large two disc turning plow, so I used his tractor and plow to turn the garden. After it was turned, my dad said I should use his tractor (L3400) to pull the disc because he didn't think mine would pull the disc over the freshly turned soil. He was surprised when he saw the 2350 in action. Although the disc in the freshly turned soil was all she wanted, it did a fine job. So now that the taters are in the ground, I am hoping for rain.

Curious about your disc hiller. What is the brand name? I will be putting in a half acre of strawberries and I was thinking about hilling them. How do you think that would work? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what does something like that cost? Thanks!....CJ

Now I have ordered the disks fro the Mechanical Transplanter Company and the brackets to mount it to a 2"x 4" tool bar I still have to get the tool bar mounted to my 3 Pt system on my tractor. This stuff is expensive but maybe you can order some parts and make up your own tool bar and make it work. I hope to make my own plastic mulcher by next spring.

The disc hillers are very old and I don't have a clue what brand they are. Those are some my dad got from my grandpa many years ago. I think new ones are around $20 -30 each. Also, there is a steep learning curve with these. I suggest you practice with them before you try plowing your strawberries with them. I hope to be proficient with them by the end of growing season this year.

You can buy a Keulavator from Agri Supply and buy some disc hillers to go onto it, including the attachment hardward to attach the disc shafts to the Keulavator.

Here are some shots of mine. I just bought the disc hillers from Agri Supply and mounted them onto my old JD M diamond bar. A friend of mine made the attachment gizmos. He also adapted the diamond bar to the 3 ph on my JD 4010, per my design.

The 4010, only 18.5 hp and turf tires, pulls the disc hillers fine (20" discs).

Just wonderin', what are ya fixin' to plant with a Disc Hiller that lays plastic?

I was born/grew up on the Central Coast of CA. The only thing I remembered about layin' plastic was for Strawberries. My Dad worked for a big farm mostly veg/some fruits, but passed when I was young long ago. Wish I had his knowledge. I just remember those big strawberry fields with plastic.

Just wonderin', 'cause it brought back memories. Especially those sweet Giant Sequoia Stawberries, the size of a plum!

Here is pic of a Disc Bedder that I am making and selling locally. I designed it to use with a Sears type garden tractor without a 3pt hitch. I am using it with an older Sears 18hp garden tractor. It really takes the work out of gardening! It will do in 30 minutes what will take all day with a hoe.

Can you set up a link for those disc hillers.I just couldn't find them at Agri supply.I already have a tool bar.
