I know that there have been a lot of plow threads recently, but I have been unable to find any specific info on the plow in the title. I have been on the look out for a two bottom plow and found this one for sale recently. The price is $250 and it seems complete and in decent shape, but what I don't know about plows could fill a book. Any info or opinions on this plow? Anything special I should be looking for? I'd appreciate any info.

The parts manual for the Ferguson AO can be found here. Check the wear parts - while they are avaliable, from what I read, they cost a pretty penny unless you can find a good used set locally or through classifieds. $250.00 is a fair price for a good used plow, especially around these parts, most I see go for $500+.

Sorry I couldn't help more,
Danny

PS: If it has the coulters on it and you don't need em, I'll be happy to take em off your hands :D.

Thanks for the response. I called the place yesterday and the salesman I spoke with said he knew about as much as I did about plows. I'm supposed to call back tomorrow and speak with the guy who's got the scoop. I had heard that parts were available but could be pricey. I've seen quite a few two bottom plows around here but none in as good condition as this one. Heck, they want $700 for a new one at TSC. Thanks again, I'll update after I talk to the plow salesman. As far as the coulters go, I only just found out what a coulter was a few days ago. I'm sure it'll take me a while to decide if I need them or not:D

Well I'm the proud new owner of a 60 year old (or so) ferguson AO 2X14 plow. The whole thing is very solid. The only part that looks to need replaced or repaired is the front landside (per the link provided by kyhobbyfarmer), it is pretty thin and rusted. The rest of the plow is stout and in good shape. I'll post some pics in the next day or two. Thanks for the info kyhobbyfarmer.

Unless things have changed in recent months, the front (short) landslides are virtually nonexistant these days. I've repaired a number of Ferguson/Massey Ferguson plows with bad front landslides by purchasing the longer rear landslide and cutting it down to the length of the front one. Last one I bought was about $32 from AGCO/MF. That's been about 20 months though. Anything, price included, may have changed since then.

Well, I'm back again with some photos this time. I've talked to a local Massey-Ferguson dealer and he told me to give him thae number off of the front landside and he would try to find it. I gave him the info that FWJ offered up about the availability, but he said he would look anyway. He also said that they have a lot of parts on hand, so I think I'll take it up there and see if I can match something close.

FWJ, your comment about the parts availability would seem right on the mark as this is definitely the most worn piece on this plow. Tells me other parts were replaced and this was not. I've attached a few photos. Looking underneath tells me there are more to these plows than I thought.

Farmwithjunk, If you happen to look at this thread again, can you tell me if this part number sounds complete? It is the number off of the front landside. The piece is very rusty and I can't tell if I'm seeing all of the numbers. The numbers I can see are 14826K. Thanks in advance.
