Quick Hitches Which quick hitch?

Have been reading as many of the posts as possible. Which QH to buy

H/F, speeco, howse. Imax, landpride, TSC by speeco? The guy down the road that makes All American equipment has one for about 240. I think its speeco , have to take a 2nd look. Looked at the tsc by speeco, kinda disappointed. Landpride at least uses rool pins on the keeper levers, the tsc unit just had pins with the ends beat up. I only want to by once and not repair, but don't want to over pay.
Also Mr. Jim @ All American makes a great Disc harrow, made me one in his Haylee line, Uses a Tapered box tube steel frame with quick adjusting.
Had mine made up with 9" spacing.
He ships alot to Canada.

Then the answer is clear...Buy the JD I-Match. The quality is there and they are the original makers of them-everything else is just a copy.

I tried one of the other brands and it worked, but there are some implements that you will have to adjust and mess with the hook every time because it is a little different than what you just unhooked from, long story short I bought a Pat's QH and couldnt be happier, wish mine came with the spreader bar for my lift arms but it didnt, I ordered mine from Northern tool and equipment before I found this site. One final note the one I bought was not a JD brand, it probably is top of the line as stated earlier. Good luck.

I agree with above post.. Spend a little extra money and get Pat's system. I bought a speeco from a farm store here for about $150 and it's ok and works with all my implements. But I still have to get off the tractor to mess with it and to hook up the top link. If you're looking at a speeco for 240, my guess is it's a cat 2 or cat 3 and will be too wide for most of your implements. I don't have the site off hand but with a little research you can find the specs for each category type hitch. Width is the big difference. Well that and pin size.

If you're going to by a quick hitch the first thing to do is go and measure the width between the pins on all you implements. This will tell you if you will have any problems before you purchase. Pat's system kind of eliminates this problem.

What does JD's association with Yanmar have to do with anything? Who made the first one then?

You still have to "get off the tractor and mess with and hook up the top link" with the PEC correct? When then implements are all set up for a QH then you don't need to do that at all unless it needs the PTO hooked up.

I bought Pat's quick hitch with the "stabliser/spreader bar" (which is essential), it is superb and makes swopping implements dead easy.......but I still have huge problems connecting the PTO.
I use (amongst others) a finishing mower deck (3 cutters) and because of the gearing you cannot move either the deck shaft or the PTO shaft on the back of the tractor so it is a b*tch trying to line them up exactly.
Am I doing it all wrong? Or is there a secret "trick" to doing this? I just cannot believe that this is so difficult.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Just found out, if you disconnect (select another outout otpion (mid pto)) then the tractor spline at the rear is easy to turn by hand! Duh!

I tried one of the cheapo (HF) quick hitches. After lots of wasted time and expense trying to fit my attachements (and still not getting it done right) I gave up and bought the Pats. MUCH better IMO.

One tip....if you go the "quick hitch" route....make sure the hook at the top link is positioned far enough away to be of some use. The HF top hook is totally useless IMO....as are several of the other brands in your list.....at least for my attachments. The hooks attachment "pins" or bolts don't allow the attachment of the implements. Duh Mine is for sale cheap ($40) if anyone is in North Central MN (Pine River area) and wants one. (I will not package and ship).

Not much of an endorsement....lol.
