So now after reading the seemingly endless discussion about flail, vs RFM, vs other finish mowing options, I have decided my life needs a Caroni finish flail model TM1900FSC with 112 cutters. I called the distibutor and was told that that would be a "special order" item and would not even be ordered until December 2009. Is there another source?

Caroni is almost unknown on the west coast. When I ask for a "finish" flail I get strange looks and comments like "you dont want to log a forest with it?".

Has anyone had actual experience with this particular model? I want to maintain the look that I get mowing with riding lawn mowers cutting at about 2 inches. Very golf course look. Really folks, can that happen with a flail, or should I just go buy a new rear finish mower like a Woods PRD7200?

Do not have a Caroni but I do have an old Mott Hammerknife that is probably 30+ years old, I think Almo bought out Mott in the mid 80's. It does have a couple of issuses and I can not remember how many stations, 60 + -, and while it is a bit slow cutting it does a really nice job. There are quite a few threads on flails and Caroni is spoke of many times, you may want to do a search.
