So after reading all the Quick Hitch threads and weighing the pro's and con's of getting the very cheap Harbor Freight QH, I decided to bite the bullet and go with the Land Pride QH. This is offered through my local tractor dealer, who has recently sold me my tractor, 2 Land Pride implements and a Woods implement.

I'm not terribly handy, and I wanted something that I knew was going to work right out of the box. No drilling, welding or bending required. Since 2 of my 3 implements (the RTR0550 tiller and a blade) were LP and were stated QH compatible, and since the Woods cutter was also branded QH compatible, I felt that this was my best shot at minimum work and maximum smiles.

Got a chance to mount it yesterday and after a little adjustments to the top hook, found that I could backup to my tiller, grab it with all 3 hooks, lift it and without getting off the seat, lock it in place.

I did have to get off the seat for the PTO hookup, but I found that the LP QH was not terribly in my way, and it was relatively easy to hook up. No more difficult then usual for the PTO attachment.

When I purchased the LP QH, my tractor sales man and I chatted and I brought up the HF and he admitted that he has seen a few of them come in on the back of tractors. He did not comment on wether they worked or not, but he felt that their quality was 'not there'. About what you would expect him to say.

I'm satisfied with my LP QH and would recommend it. I paid about $350 for it.

Good to hear you are happy with your QH. Land Pride does make quality products. I've never heard anything negative said about them. I don't mind paying a little more for quality.

You bought what I believe to be the best QH made..

You're gonna' love it!

Out here in OrEEgone, Land Pride is King. The stuff holds up under demanding conditions. I never mind paying a little extra for quality but I hesitate to pay a lot for it. HF at least provides me 30 minutes of entertainment when I go to town, and I usually bring something home. But having said that, I drool around LP equipment. That same QH here is priced at $499. Go figure.

gentlemen,
i don't know which is more of a beast, the and land pride qh-15 series on the back of the new bx2360, or the 2360 itself. it came on the tractor as part of a negoiation trading in my sickly bx1850.
i believe i made a good choice and am searching for a landscape rake, rear blade and tiller.

I can tell you that I have yet to find another QH brand that can beat the Land Pride in build and features. I wouldn't be without mine! :p

Where is the bst place to buy one? What can I expect to pay for a Cat 1 QH?

I bought mine with my tractor at the Dealer. It cost me $300. They aren't cheap but you won't ever have to worry about it being the weak link either. There are cheaper ones out there that will work if price is a major factor. I have seen the "off brand" ones for $100 to $179 in TSC and the like and on EBAY. Any QH is better than NO QH :p

I know this is an old thread, but rather than start a new one, I figured I'd ask here.

I've gotten fairly decent at hooking up my implements, but I can safely say that I don't think I've ever backed up to an implement, got off the seat, and hooked it up without messing with at least one lever to get the lineup correct. Ever since finding out about quick hitches, I've thought about one every time I've hooked up an implement. (Note: this is yet another attachment that I didn't know I needed, or even existed, until I read about it here on TBN)

I have a few very heavy implements that I can't really "push around" if I'm a little bit off on my approach, and I think I'd really like quick hitch for these times.
The main reason I'm thinking about purchasing one, is because over time, I've found myself not using the right implement for the job, simply because I knew it was a hassle to unhook/hook up another implement. I think with the QH, I would be a lot more apt to change out implements when needed.

I know 3 of my implements are QH compatible, and I know 2 implements that aren't, but I don't know about the others. When something isn't QH compatible, what part typically isn't the "compatible" part? I would assume that all lower link parts are the same, since it's a standard width. So is it that the top link is in the wrong spot?

With the adjustable top link on the Land Pride unit, do you guys that have them find that there aren't many implements you can't make work?

Are you happy with the LP unit now that you've had it a while?

It's rare to find the lower pins are wrong width. If there's a problem down there it will be structural supports built into the attachment that might be in the way of the hooks coming at the pins from the bottom. I've got a Rhino 6ft brush cutter that has that problem.

Usually it's the top link. Most issues there are the same as above. There will be something in the way that prohibits the hook from approaching the top pin from the bottom. Next issue would be the top pin is the wrong height.

These issues can be overcome with a little thought and labor. The payoff is worth it if you have several attachments.

It's very common for me to have 2 or more 3pt attachments on my tractor in a day of work. I never dread the hook/unhook. I added a QH to my tractor shortly after I bought it. Little over a year later and the QH has not been removed once.

I don't mind paying for a quality product. I might buy cheap Beer, but I avoid cheap tractor accessories. :drink:
