A late followup on the Dealer situation and final review of the Hanmey FM N180.
In my last post I was sarcastic by referring to burger flipping. Turns out the Dealer read it and did not like it. Sorry. The Dealer did sell me new parts over the years and seems to run a good business. He did at the time that I made my comment (2009) employ persons who did not understand English and apparently only were capable of following instruction without understanding what it was that they were doing. The main faults with the machine is that it is just an inexpensively made product of poor design. The dealer who imports them and sells them should not be faulted for that. At the time I was looking for the lowest possible price and got it. It the case of this piece of equipment, I made a poor decision. In the fall of 2015 I visited Betst Products and discovered that the wheel bushing grease fitting still had the same problem.

After 7 years of use the Hanmey FM N180 Rear Finish Mower was retired. Much repairing has taken place. Welding of decks, elongating the slotted holes for the gearbox so that one could get proper belt tension, replacing all wheel stirrups that bent very easily. The worst is that the blade spindles were not properly aligned with the pulley on the gearbox and the belts tended to curl over and wear quickly. Had I not corrected the lubrication problems mentioned in my earlier post the machine would doubtfully lasted one year.

Bottom Line: sometimes cheapest is too cheap. I made it work for 7 years but it took a lot of trouble and I expected a $1200 implement to last longer. The machine I replaced it with (Land Pride 2584 $2630) is expensive but a day and night of difference.
