So my boxblade came in yesterday.

I mentioned before that a company building AG equipment offered to build a boxblade according customer spec for about 450$.

With my paddock renovation project under time pressure i decided to ask for the "normal" version and not bother with extra features.

Had it made 55inch wide to nicely cover the tire track. To my surprise all material is 10mm thickness (0.4inch) and the beam that holds the acarifiers made of 2 welded hot rolled U profiles.

It came in green, although the guy knew i have an iseki and not a JD....

Scarifiers are self made, not commercial types. No idea why but i was pulling them deep through packed ground with lots of stones in it as a first tests and they hold up to the limited power of the tractor.

We had a little discussion about the front blade not being long enough, It stops about 1 inch above the bottom level of the side plates. He took me to a big boxblade as they normally produce, this was done exactly the same. They make it that way to allow you to bold on a hardened blade or rubber blade or whatever you want so you can easily replace the blade when it is worn out.
With our rocky grounds everywhere they went to this system as otherwise they had to replace the blades (cutting and welding that is) too often. Not good for them and the customer. Point taken and accepted, I'll bold on a bottom piece shortly.

Weight is just below 250kg, 550 lbs. With the blade edge as it is now it can use more weight on the back although i think it will be fine once the cutting edge extension is in place.

Overall and after a first try-out: very well build and yes a boxblade should have been the first implement to buy. Where it took me hours and hours trying to "shave" of the toplayer of the paddock with the fel i moved almost 4 times more in the same time after a run-over with the boxblade.

Looks great! At 550lbs it should get the job done for you too. That's pretty heavy for a 4 1/2 ft blade.

no replaceable cutting edge on front or rear?

For a 41/2ft box blade that thing is built like a tank. Like the interlocking bricks to by the way.

Thanks for the approving comments.

Nice someone notices, the bladebox thing is funny.
These people have no idea what it is called in english so when i got in contact with them and kept repeating the word boxblade (as i am not able to repeat what they call it ) it resulted in the son of the guy being sent to the local paper shop for the right letters and putting it on the BB while father and I were arranging the financials over a cup of selfmade coffee.

When we went back into the workplace i saw something was mixed up. But he, would you say something when you have a proud-of-his-job son standing there next to his proud-to-have-sold-to-a-foreigner father?

I didnt.

Have about 15 hours with it since, using it to level out 120 metric tons of dirt gravel and about the same amount of ground.

The BB and FELcombi: All i can say...

halve your time double your efficiency :D

For somebody who was working with shovel and wheelbarrow till last december it is shocking.

All I know of foreign language is the fact that my son took a collage course of spanish last year. What little I have figured out is that english is a backwards language to most of the world. That boy may not have understood the words but he made your box blade truly unique.
