I am planning to buy a grading scraper to dress my 500' driveway. Can anyone confirm that a B3030 will handle a 60" (Landpride GS1560)? For people more familiar with brands other than Kubota - this is a 30hp tractor that weighs about 1850 pounds dry, and with no loader. I'm not as concerned about the power as I am the traction. It spins going up a slight grade with a 60" box blade full of material. Will a grading scraper present the same load as a box blade? And how much will it help if I get the rear (turf) tires loaded? Thanks.

Loading the tires will help a bunch. Yeah I bet those wheels were slipping with a loaded boxblade.

I find that I can pull a scraper blade easier that I can pull a box blade so if you are pulling a 5 foot box blade full the a 5 foot scraper will be fine and I ditto having the rears tires filled with fluid. I have a L4400 and use a 7 foot BB and a 7 foot scraper. Unrelated but if I had it to do over I would get 6 foot BB because it sets wider than my tires.

I'd recommend to keep the loader on while using box scraper!

BTW - FWIW, the Landpride GS1560 grading scraper pulls just fine behind a B3030 in 2wd and tires loaded with Rim Guard. Front wheel assist has not been required - so for me it's been a great match.

I have a B7800 and a 72" Tilting and angle blade. I leave the FEL on for the needed weight.
I maintain 1/2 mile dirt road, 3/4 is up hill quite steep 10 deg slope as the state refuses to pave it due to steepness.
The tractor has the power to dig in the blade and take out all the bumps, but if I get too much of a wave of rock in front of the blade going, it will bog if it's in the steep portion.
Any added weight you can add would be a benefit, but the FEL is needed just in case you need to crawl out of a spot. 30 hp is a lot more than you have traction for in this case. I run mine 17-1800 rpm and that is more than enough power for 6' blade.

Have fun with your new blade.
