I'm considering buying a Wallace bush hog from TSC (Tractor Supply Company). Has anyone owned one or know anyone who has? Thanks.

I looked at the Tractor Supply Brush Hogs. They are light duty and reasonably priced. They do not have any kind of protection for flying objects and are illegal to use for any type of public use and are sold for rural farm use only. No thank you, mine will have chain guards on front and back and highly recommend at least the rubberized fabric guards for any rotary mower. In North Texas, we have a lot of locally manufactured rotary mowers that I think are better, but TSC sells a lot of them. The guarantee on most of these mowers is only 90 days with Bush Hog and Rhino and other name brand mowers carrying a 1 yr guarantee.

Spent some time this weekend in my TSC store. Really discouraged. They used to carry some decent stuff. Everything I picked up, from tractor hitch pins to trailer balls & hitches, was stamped made in China or India. I am sure they are being forced into being competitive pricewise, but this stuff was really crude and cheap looking. Don't know about the Wallace Bush Hog?? Expect it is the same. Just my opinion "and it oughta be yours" .

I bought a bush hog from TSC. It was red and had no brand name, so I don'y know if it is Wallace or not. The deck has many deep dents from the inside where things tried to come through but it does not seem to be a problem. It was bad rusted when I got it. I did not know it until I had already paid for it and I had my father-in-law there with a trailer to transport it. I went ahead and got it anyway, but I thought that was pretty bad business to sell me a rusted bush hog for a new price. The only problem I have had with it is that the nuts and bolts vibrate loose. I have to check and tighten them at least once per hour. Most or all do have locking washers. This is my first bush hog, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I looked at the Wallace Bush Hog when I got mine last year. Just didn't like the quality of the construction for that kind of equipment that does get abused somewhat (at least where I cut). I ended up investing about $200 more in LandPride with the chain guards front and rear and have been really pleased with it. There weren't and front or rear guards on the one from TSC.

I did purchase a 5ft back blade (I think it was made by Wallace) from TSC for moving snow and grading the driveway, and have been satisfied with it. Since I could get by with the light duty back blade, I invested the savings there in a better bush hog.
