Ken | A FEL and a tiller is a better combination than a Fel and box blade in my book.

I don't have an implement I don't use.
By far and away the most useful is my loader followed closely by my backhoe.
Tiller would be a nice to have but used so infrequently that I can get by with my box and rippers.
Joel | If I didn't have a BH I'd think I didn't have a tractor.

| Re: What attachments did you THINK you needed but don't use much? Although the concept of a grapple bucket is a good one, mine did not work out so well in practice. I ended up with an MDS rock bucket grapple, which while a very sturdy product, is simply too big for my tractor. Also, the grapple part of it is an after-thought that really isn't very useful because its "bite" is way too big (can't clamp down on a stack of sticks, etc.)
Being a newbie (when I got the setup), I let the dealer sell me what he had instead of what I wanted (an Anbo grapple). Although I did manage to use my MDS to drag a few downed trees, I could have just as easily (and a lot more cheaply) done this with chains. My problem was that the tractor was not plumbed for grapple hydraulics and I was afraid of putting those on myself, so I just handed the dealer a big wad of cash in exchange for an education.
I don't use the disc harrow or rear blade all that much, but since they are on loan from a neighbor who doesn't use them, this doesn't really count, now does it.
For that matter, now that I've cleared my orchard of trash trees, I no longer have a lot of use for the backhoe, but it sure was effective in tearing out an acre of thorn trees in short order. Besides, I might feel destructive once again some day, and I'd hate to be without it.
Most useful? Easy: the brush hog. Was going to use it tomorrow, but since we got a good rain tonight, that's going to have to wait. |

| Re: What attachments did you THINK you needed but don't use much? I use my box blade alot, both as counter weight and for grading driveways. I guess one item that doesn't get used often is the roto tiller, but when I do want it, there is no substitute!
I suppose it could be possible to rent one for a day, but at the time I purchased it I had a bunch of work to do on my yards, and had a job lined up that paid for the tiller. All the other implements are so inexpensive that I don't care if they aren't often used. I think a backhoe would be fun, but I can't justify the money because I don't have the actual need for one.
I'm using a Kubota BX 1800
Right now I have :
4ft KK box blade
5ft rear blade
3point fertilizer spreader
4ft landpride tiller
5ft smoothing drag with home made 3point lift
home made ripper/wire/tubing plow
receiver hitch
They all have uses yet, but the tiller is probably the least often used. |

| Re: What attachments did you THINK you needed but don't use much? Pallet forks.
Had grand plans for using them clearing brush (brush sticks right through), Popping roots out (not the 300CX 42" out!), having an organized storage system for other implements (great if you have smooth ground-not here!).
Still use them a few times of year for moving logs, but a chain on the bucket works nearly as well, just on/off the tractor more.
They have been great the 2 times in three years large items came on pallets.

| Re: What attachments did you THINK you needed but don't use much? Just bought my tractor in january. Bought it second hand. Have a 60" mower and fel. Want to buy a snowblower. Was reading all your attachements you don't use. Is any of these things for sale? I am thinking of buying a pail of bucket forks for tractor. |
