[I have been on vacation since last wk so if I am behind on anything related to this, I will catch up after posting].

TerraBond's Mike Grotefend is loaning a Road Boss (now called Spreader Grader) to my New Holland dealer so I can demo it here at our property. It is a 6 ft (non-hydraulic) model, and is due in to Theros today or tomorrow. My recollection is that the retail is something in the $1500-2000 neighborhood for this size and discounting has been discussed.

Cowboy said he likes his unit but considers the cost high. Who else has one?

If anyone (Mark C?) who lives anywhere near Richmond, VA, would like to come see and try the demo unit (on my tractor or bring yours), write to me, jim_TbNRBDemo@ordinary.com. I hope I can keep it until after Sept 15 (corp tax deadline), but let me know when you are available and we will all work things out.

I have a big parking lot so we can put it thru the paces. Bring your video cameras, too.

If some of you live near Fredericksburg or either of Theros Equipment's other stores, you could call Randolph or Joel at 540-373-9353 to make arrangements to see it nearer to you.

/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Bird, come on, no excuses, air fares are still cheap,'specially now after Labor Day. Not sure 'bout your <font color=orange>'Bota </font color=orange>, ;-), though...since it is kinda young, does it fly free? Seat beside you or in your arms like other babies?

Hmm, you may have to use my <font color=blue>BLUE</font color=blue> tractor :) after all. Heck, with where you are from, you won't even need the AC /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.

Aaah, Jim, wish I could be there./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif And while I've flown from one end of this country to the other in the past, and air fares may be cheap (relatively speaking), I'm hoping I never have to fly on a commercial airline again.

Bird there are a couple of members on this board that fly planes maybe you could hitch a ride with one of them. Can't say it would be any safer. Guess the best thing is to stay on good old terra firmmmmmmaaaaa.

Gordon, I don't know either about the safety aspect. The experts say the big airlines are safer than the little planes, but I loved flying in the helicopters around Dallas, and flying in small private planes (especially a trip from the Cessna factory in Kansas to Anchorage once in a two-seater), and there was a time I even enjoyed the commercial flights, but I hope I never again have to go through fighting the traffic at the airport, waiting in lines, sitting in an airplane an hour or so waiting to take off, etc. In fact, it's bad enough now that I wouldn't take a vacation via commercial airline if it were free. A sign of getting old, I guess./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bird, I wouldn't say it's a sign of getting older but I would say it's a sign of getting wiser!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Why fight the crowds if you don't really have to. Can't argue that issue or lost luggage or sitting on the tarmac for an hour and on and on and on! Wiser I'd say you are!
If the tickets were free I'd have to take them---just cuz.

Jim - I'll be emailing you. I'd love to see it, if I can get there when you've got it.

I would own one (or the Grademaster). The heavy duty models are Class II or Class III so your tractor should handle it ok. It is far from a box blade and is the only tool that I have seen that comes close to having your own road grader at a reasonable price. The price is high for my usage, but I bet I could make as much money with that attachment as any other one just doing local gravel road maintenance.

Jim finally has the demo Road Boss hooked to his tractor. He sent me this picture and asked me to post it for everyone to see.

Am I missing something? 1-2K for that? Doesn't look too much mroe involved than a box blade, maybe an extra cross piece or two. Why so much dinero?????????
