Your feedback on Bush Hog 8' Rotary Cutter model 3008....appreciate yur personal experience or knowledge of this model rather than generalized opinion of the manufacturer. Not interested in feedback on Woods or thread to go in that comparative direction. how does this model stand compared to 290 model series? many thanks bb

They are a good heavy two spindle cutter. If your tractor is undersized or light in the front, consider a semi-mount configuration.

rick: thanks on this....also looking at a rhino turbo tr96 but don't know how the price would compare, seems a bit heavier. have a Kub 8540 w/fels so hitch shouldn't be an issue. woods is out. thanks! bb

I bought the Rhino TR96. My unlce has the Bush Hog 3008. They both do a good job. The TR96 is heavier to me. It aslo has a dome top which I like. I try to spray off my equipment after each cutting -- so the water sheds well.

I run a Kubota M9000 with the TR96. Can run Low4 or High 1 (as long as it is not too bumpy). The mower and the tractor handle the costal without issue. I ran the TR96 with an M5700 and it would bog down sometimes in really thick grass. The M9000 has no issues.

I tried both the semi mount and the drag. Ended up buying the drag, but I liked the semi-mount b/c you could back up a bit easier. The TR96 cuts very well. Around the house I set it at about 2" and it looks like I mowed it. Very happy with the TR96, but when I used my uncles 3008, it got the job done too.
