I have a really heavy duty set of Hydraulic Disc Harrows that are about 7 foot wide, I also have a set of smaller 3pt hitch offset disc harrows, but they aren't nearly as beefy and don't cut nearly as deep as the hydraulic set.

I am trying to find if anyone knows of a manufacturer that makes a set of 3-point hitch discs around 6-8ft wide that turn/dig as well as a heavy set of hydraulic discs??? I have been told that the Brushmaster line of discs made by Amco/Wildlife Specialty will do it, however they are about $7k new, and I don't think you can find them used very often. Our soil is often hard clay, and sometimes we have to cut into an established fescue field.

If anyone knows of some, please let me know if you have seen some used for sale around upstate SC.

Thank you for your help!! :)

In Fastline this month Lasseter Equ. in Lyons, Ga shows a 3pt Athens 97 (8'4") for $3500.
The 97 means 97 lbs per disc. Greensouth in Thomasville as a 97 for the same price but w/ scrapers.

Good luck,
Kevin

Howse makes some HD 3pt harrows(HT series). They have 20" blades and you can get a 7 1/2' or 9'. They'll save you lots of $$$ compared to the Athens.

I'm looking for a front end loader for a JD 6403 with cab. Also, a heavy duty 3 pt. hitch offset disc from 7'6'' to 8'6".

disk on trailer.jpgDisk brand and serial.jpgIf you want a disc that is heavy and deep cutting, get one that is trailer pull type with hydraulic operated wheels. Put water in the tires on the disc for extra weight. That is what we used to do with the big tandem disc that were so heavy that they needed 4 tires to hold them up and then we put double acting cylinder on the tire lift and filled those big 10:00x16 duals with water and then sucked them off the ground when discing. Get a disk with 3/16" thick or 1/4" thick blades and you will have a cutting machine. I don't know of anyone that makes narrow disc that heavy though.
Mine is about as heavy a frame disc as you can get for a 3PH made by J BAR and the blades are only 1/8" thick and has two sections of railroad on it for extra weight.
Also get one that has adjustable set to the gangs, some are fixed into one position. NOTE the holes in the center frame where each gang is fastened which allows you to take some set out so it is such aggressive cutting if you want to just use it for covering seeded pastures and other tillage where you don't want to disturb the soil so much.

AMCO is a good heavy duty disk I used to have a 6' or 6 1/2' pull type with large diameter heavy spools in the 1970's wish I could find another one like it. Hope you can find one for your needs.

Amco is a great disc. I don't have stock or anything but they are local, built in the gateway to the delta. 2nd the howse, have one( see avatar) love it. But they are another MS company. I'm biased.
Land pride makes a good one also.

Missisippi is a popular location for disk manufacturers there are several top brands made in the state. Tuffline is another example.
