Hi everyone, this is my first post, very happy to be here you guys seem to have a great forum. I am sitting on 7 acres in Oklahoma about 50 percent flat and the rest very hilly. This month I am picking up a JD 2720 and I need to make a decision on which 72'' grooming mower to go with. Here is what I have narrowed it down to. Please guide me, much appreciated.

John Deere Frontier GM30

Land Pride FDR25

Bush Hog RDTH

Woods PRD7200

Here are a few pics of my land during a flood.

Personally I like the Woods PRD7200 RFM, and not just because I own one. It's a very ruggedly built mower (and the heaviest of those 4), leaves a very nice groomed cut which I feel is better than that of a MMM, and it's the same exact model as the Frontier GM1072R RFM except JD just repaints them green and puts their own stickers on them.

Runner, another member here, has the GM1072R and uses it behind a 2520. He has no problem powering the mower, and I think the only issue he has run into is keeping traction because of the size and weight of the mower.

Those are some wild flood pictures BTW.

Would some suitcase weight on the front help with any traction issues?

I have the Woods PRD8400 and love it. So I vote for the Woods. 3 seasons of cutting 15 acres every week and no problems. I switch to sharpened blades half-way through each summer and the cut remains excellant. Mine is a rear discharge.

Land Pride what a mower...
When you are looking, a few thing to consider:
The front and rear wheels are offset so they do not track in the same place.

Check for easy access to check & service the belt drive area.

Rear discharge is best for me...

You might also look into solid gage wheels or foam filling the regular ones.

Like your shooting backstop... :)

Don't quote me, but I believe "Runner" has to mow with the loader on the tractor, as well as dual wheel weights on each rear wheel, just to get enough workable traction.
