This is the way. Beating with hammers may get them out, but bad to get the new one in. Vises can bend, ask me how I know.

Having the right tools is half the job.

Same press as I have. Got mine as a Fathers Day gift a few years back. They're the ticket! But they'll bend things just as easily as a vice. Neither are a danger if you watch what you're doing and be VERY careful.

I meant I bent the vise. BTW, that chromed part you see in there is a socket from my 3/4" drive set, another handy thing to have.

I see said the blind man........ I bought a Wilton vice a few years back, just to mount on my service truck. First time I cranked down on it, SNAP!!!!!! Broke the jaws.

Yep. There is no such thing as having too many tools!

No such thing as too many tools OR A GOOD VISE!!
I caught a good one back a few years ago when they were clearing out an area seldom used area and one was stashed in the back of a shelf. I happened to be standing there with a supervisor when it came into view and immediately asked for it. He said ok before the other guy could say anything. Turned out he had stashed it waiting on the right moment to get approval to remove it from company property. I still enjoy using that vice for U-joints and clamping things in it, since it is a large-old-good- one.

And BUYING THE EXACT RIGHT TOOLS for a one time use is often equal to just buying an entire replacement!!
20 ton press - $200
PTO shaft assembly often less.

To often on TBN we describe the IDEAL solution when a "Bronson rock" will suffice.

/edit Urban Dictionary: Bronson rock
