I am thinking about getting a Fimco 3-point sprayer to spray my 3 acre yard for weeds and I know nothing about sprayers or pumps. Which is a better pump Delavan or Hypro or another brand. Any recommendations on number of rollers etc. would be appreciated?

I have a Kubota B7610 tractor that it will be attached to with 540 rpm pto.

Trying to get a landscape co. to come out and spray for weeds when I want them (calm winds, fresh mowed lawn) is impossible, so I figured I'd get my own.

I bought one of these recently from TSC and have been real happy with it.

8 Roller Pump Kit - 2112031 | Tractor Supply Company

This is the whole kit: pump, adapter, mounting bracket and chains, etc.
SKU Number: 2112031 8 roller pump. $169.99
I pumped about 2500 gallons of water in a little over 3 hours.

Be sure to get the round up ready pump if that's what it'll be used for. I lost $300 to find that out. bjr

I ended up getting the Fimco 40 gl. 3-point sprayer with the electric pump. It should be just fine for what I'm using it for. This way it eliminates the headache of figuring out which roller pump to buy.

I was under the impression when I bought mine that it was ready for Round Up. But reading the manual I'm not so sure now. Didn't matter to me. I got mine only to pump clear water.

I'm not a chemist and not sure what that glysophate mix, something salt, but I tried using a gear pump made for pumping hydraulic oil and it lasted about two hours. It ate clear thru the shaft bushings and the end cap out to the bolt holes. I had paid a little over $300 for that pump and I had to just toss it in the scrap iron bin. I bought a eight roller HyPro silver series and that's been about four years ago. I spray pretty much glysophate, so I need the good stuff. No more experimenting with pumps for me. bjr

Yeah I asked the guy if the electric pump would hold up to Round-up and he said no problem, just make sure you flush it out after using it. Only time will tell.

I know those cast iron roller pumps won't last long if you use it for Round-up, that's why they recommend those expensive Ni-Resist or Silver Series pumps with the special Viton seals. You can get into some big bucks on those 6,7, or 8 roller pumps with the special housings.

This is a bit off the subject but I recently fitted new valves to an old Tecnoma diaphragm pump and fitted it to the PTO of my Kub B6100.

It replaces a cactus 12V pump on a Hardie 200 litre (44gl?) trailed sprayer.

It pumps very well even at the idle and the lowest PTO speed.

But I discovered the live PTO is a problem, as soon as I depress the clutch the pump stops.

Are independant PTO's now standard on small tractors - if so which are the earliest model Kubs to have it?
