Hey List,

Well Now that I have the cylinder from NorthernTool's here for my rear blade offset (22" cylinder with 12" stroke) I'm having 2nd thoughts..

I only have 1 rear remote on my Kioti DK40se and I'm just thinking that It would be better to have they remote operate the tilt (right side of the 3PH Lower link) insted of the offset. Ultimately adding another rear remote and have both is the answer.. but that won't be for a year or so.

What is the list's opnion on which is more usefull...

1: Offset
or
2: Tilt

for a rear blade? I'm leaning toward tilt at the moment...

Carry on,
Phill

Tilt............. since even with hydraulic offset, you still need to manually change the angle of the blade. ;)

I agree,

Tilt is the way to go.. Now for another question?

My Left link is 17.25 inch long, so I'd like to get a cylinder for the right side that gives me some movement on each side of this. Does anyone have any suggestions on the PN for a cylinder they have used. Ive been looking, and to find one with a closed length less than 17.25 inch seems to not give me much stroke.

Any suggestions?

Phill

I can only suggest talking to C & C Machinery. They do alot of top&tilt kits for members here. They have the DPCV on theirs, so your tilt doesn't sag out of adjustment. They may have even delt with your particular model so they may know right ofhand what cylinder you'd need.

CowwFace, the tilt cylinder for your 3pt would be the way to go. Keep in mind that you do not just buy a std hydraulic cylinder and put it on as you were going to do for the offset cylinder on your rear blade. It should really have the same type of ends that your std side like has now. I would guess that a 6" stroke is all that you are going to get, :) and that might not work.:( It's possible that you might only be able to have a 4" stroke.:(

As far as the side link having the check valve that a lot of people talk about and have, well I am not real hot on them, especially on the side links. You just don't need them in my opinion. You are constantly adjusting them anyway, so what if it drifts a little in 10-15 minutes, you've already needed to make adjustments with the thing several times by then anyway, at least I do. ;)

You should be able to get a side link in the $220-$250 range.

Good luck
