Flail Mower Ford 907 flail mower

The 907 is decent, but not heavy duty. The later 917 model was an upgrade, and is a little bit more heavy duty, but nothing too extreme. I use my 6' 917 for weeds and brush, and haven't had any trouble. Pictures of mine are in the Flail Mower thread here. Most can be found for a few hundred.

For quick identification, the 907 has a single belt, and wide 3-point braces (large plates really) for the top link. The 917 has a double belt (looks like two belts that are attached on the backside), and the 3-point braces are more traditional 2-3" bars.

What's bad about a 918H compared to, say, a 917H or Mott/Alamo SHD88?

I have a 907 I picked up for $200, It works excellent! I should have bought one years ago! The offset path works great for getting under shrubs and along my road and driveway:thumbsup:

A couple photos of its current state..... I have a gallon of Ford Red to repaint and match the 861.

Nice ! That's short money. I've been keeping my eye on CL for a decent used flail....... but they always seem to be priced crazy (even with blown gearboxes :confused2:).
