| Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 After doing some searching for info on chippers I'm considering the Wallenstein BXM32 for my BX2230, but would like some feedback/opinions. Is there something else out there that might work better? Or something I may be missing? Going to be used both on my property when needed and for commercial work a few times per year. Thanks. |

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 I think the chipper / shredder you are considering is a good choice. I have the older BX42 on my slightly larger B2620, and it has worked quite well. The knife clearance on mine had to be adjusted before it would work well with leafy, and stringy stuff, but that cured all my issues. With the shredder, and slightly smaller capacity you should be all set. There are several members here using Wallenstein chippers like mine on their BX24's, etc, and as far as I know they have been happy. Here is a link to one being run on a BX24. YouTube - wallenstein bx 42 chipper on Kubota BX 24

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 The BXM32 is definitely next on my list. The first sign of Spring next year, and I'll be putting in an order for one. All the reseach I've done tells me its the best product out there for my needs and tractor (BX2660). Let us know you like yours when you take the plunge. |

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 I have that model and use it on a BX25. It works well and i have no regrets. Good solid construction and it is easy to get to the chipper blades to reverse/sharpen them. Remove one bolt to open the housing where the flywheel is. Like any cutting tool..., it works best when it's sharp. When I got mine early this spring they had a promotional special going and I got a free set of chipper blades.
If I had any quibble it would be that the paint is a bit on the thin side. I made a dolly for mine so I could move it around the garage when not in use. Storing attachments in my garage is sort of like figuring out a Rubix cube... |

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 Picked it up yesterday. I will need to flip the cat 1 pins to the inside, and will need to space them so the lift arms will clear the lip. Get that done and I can fit the shaft and start cutting.
It's bigger in person than it looked online/paper. |

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 Got it going and used it for a few minutes yesterday. With pine it chips like nobody's business up to it's rated capacity. You do need to either keep a hand on longer branches or stand clear, as they will occasionally thrash about and whack you in the head if you just drop them in the hopper and stand there. |

[/IMG] | You can always go get the next branch rather that supervising...
Another thing to be aware of is that the shredder can really snatch certain types of small branches and vines! Don't hold on and make sure they are not wrapped around your arm.
I spent at least an hour feeding mine grape vines over the last week.
The chipper will get smaller after you have used it a few times, but it does not get any quieter! |

| Re: Thinking about a BXM32 for my BX2230 If you want to speed up the process of making the chipper seem smaller, just get a larger tractor. I'm sure it will work fine on the one you have though. One thing I found, and other owners of Wallenstien chippers have found is that the knives on the chippers are sometimes not set properly from the factory, and that has caused some feeding issues. You might want to check yours after using it a bit. Hmm, think I'll go out, and fire up mine. I've got a little more chipping that I would like to do before the snow comes.
