I think there are kits that you can get off ebay.

1st you need to tell what kind of tractor you have so someone can help you. I made a dually out of this little Ariens tractor. I found the parts for it on Ebay. I only had to provide some nuts and bolts. You may have to go through a dealer. zman

Sorry your are right, I have a Cub Cadet 8404 or better known as a Kioti DK40. I want to widen the stance of it to be more stable on hillsides.

I think you may be able to find spacer kits which would be much cheaper, albeit not quite as wide.

Have you added tire ballast?

Curious: Do you use the hydraulic cylinder to help adjust the mower in the picture, or is it just fixed in place and used for other implements.

No i havent put any ballast in the tires i realy want to keep this tractor as light as i can, i know this is not good for dooing plowing or gradding work but i only do bush hogging and its been so wet this year that the tractor is making terrible ruts everywhere i mow. I mow some dangerous hillsides in my oppinion and i was wanting to widden it and also spread out the weight of the tractor by using dual wheels.
I use the hydraulic cylinder to help lift the cutter up high in the air while crossing ditches and loading it on trailers. Before i got the hydraulic top link the cutter would hang up in he mud and stick the tractor but now when this happens i can raise the tail wheel almost 4 feet high in the air and usually drive right out of the mud hole.

Check with your dealer to see if the axles will take the strain of adding a dual wheel set up. From the photos, it looks like you have the wheels at the max setting now.
The outside tire on duals puts a lot of strain on the axle and if it is not designed to take the load, something is going to brake. If you put two tractor tires together like the little garden tractor and get them into mud like you speak of, the tread wont shed the mud and they become like racing slicks. That was a problem with big tractors back in the 60s when engine power exceeded the tires grip power, farmers wanted more traction but wanted to keep tires down to 18.4 width so they could still cultivate with them so they stuck on a set of duals. Problem was that the early tractor axles werent long enough to properly space them and the tires were basically side wall to side wall and mud would get in between them causing severe out of balance problems and was nearly impossible to get out without removing the tire. You could likely get a few inches wider with a machined spacer, but just be aware that every inch you space out the tires adds lots more leverage action to your axles shaft. IMHO ballasting the tires is more efficient and safer than trying to add dual tire. I dont think you will find it to be rutting any more and maybe even less if your tires are spinning when going thru the mud, that will dig a deeper rut than a ballasted tire that doesnt spin.

If you can't add weight, I'd think your last hope would be a new set of R-1's with those new tall paddle bars on the tread would help from sliding sideways. Your R-4's look at least 1/2 way worn out.

I agree with Builder on this, I spent alot of time on tractors in your area and we always used R1 tires filled. Less slip=less ruts. Sometimes when it is too wet the best thing to do is park it.

I have R4 tires on everything where I live now but the soil is sandy and rocky in a semi arid climate.

If you move the rims to the outside of the wheel centers you'll gain another four inches of width without having to buy anything. My kioti manual shows all the variations of rear wheel track width, of which this setup is the widest. Try that first and then see if you still need to add even more width.
DK 40 should take the Kioti rear dual kit no problem. See your dealer and bring a big bag of cash.
