I've been given a 48" Howard Rotavator. S/N F21071. Somewhere during it's lifetime someone took a cutting torch and cut off the three point hitch points and scabbed on some angle iron. The tiller seems to be in fair shape but I would like to rebuild the mounting system. Does anyone have some pictures showing the top of the tiller? Is there a way of getting some info on this piece of equipment?

I have a 48" Howard Rotavator but not sure if it's the same as yours. Here's a picture of it.

Thanks for the picture. Mine is a older model I guess. It has a rounded hood over the tines with a 4" tube running across the top. I would enclose a picture but haven't figured out how to attach it to the message yet.

I saw your picture of 48 inch Howard rotovator. I have been looking at a 50-inch rototiller that looks like this, and the man says its a Howard rotovator, but it has been repainted and I can't find any model number tag on it. I has kind of a squarish/rectangular chain cover with grease, not oil, on the chain.
Can you tell me what the model number is, and where the tag number might be?
Where is a good place to find parts.

Thanks

The Howard Rotavator in markwmo's photo is the Howard Rotavator model J. Stephenmeyer - The machine could be a model J or a model HN which looks much like the J. One sure way to confirm the model (If a J or HN) is by the casting number on the gear box. This will be a Durst A11 for the J and A101 for the HN. The casting number will be on the front neck of the gearbox, probably on the bottom. The J uses a Number 80 chain (1" pitch or pin centers) and the HN use a Number 60 chain (3/4" pitch). Advise your finding and I can confirm model and email parts list and manual. I have retired after 40 years with Howard Rotavator, but glad to help. Also advise where you are located so I can find a supplier near you for parts. Steve

I see you only have 10 posts. Welcome to TBN.

I hope you stick around, the Howard Rotovator comes up quite often in here, and it would be nice to have someone around to help out.

I just bought a Howard model e4. The bearings are missing on the non drive side. The gearbox and chain drive look to be good. Anyone know where to find these bearings?

Thanks
