This is true, but depending upon your needs, a scoop may be more cost effective.

You are of course right on with the thought. In fairness to the dealer the FEL was already a done deal. He really is trying to save me a little money by putting me off of something he views as less functional than something I already have. I have been looking at scoops just because it seems like a good idea. It would seem to me that properly operated they could be more precise than the loader for certian things. I am pretty good with my FEL but there are times when I would like to just cut the sod off of an area, move it someplace safe, and put it back when I'm finished. While it is possible to do this with the loader or even the backhoe, the scoop just LOOKS like it would do a better job.

Yes, the scoop does a good job of digging up a peice of sod. I do agree that a fel is better but - $2800 for fel I won't have for a year, $260 for a scoop I did have. Right now it is doing more than I thought so it was well worth it.

I thought it would, it just looks like the ticket. I have not bought one because I trust my dealer. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. But I am always moving a piece of sod out of the way and having to replace it. The loader can do it but it usually takes a lot more dirt than I want at the same time. The scoop seems like an inexpensive answer.

Lots of Beer = Flying Roos !!

Hey but in all honesty - This morning I saw 2 roos down the back in a vacant lot. Maybe only the second or third time I have ever seen them out here.

And no, there was no beer involved !!

Small world. We have the same effect here but, depending on what part of the country, you might see Bigfoot or flying saucers. I've always enjoyed the flying saucers myself. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
