Default Dirt scoop in action (pictures)

Just some pics of actual dirt dug using a scoop. One trick I found quite by accident :

Tilt the scoop to the ground and back up a little. The scoop will catch and the tractors back tires will come off the ground.
Results : The scoop will tilt almost vertical and will dump easier.

Very Interesting. My dealer has been putting me off of getting one of these. They look like a good idea to me, but he says that a FEL does everything a scoop can do and does it better. I am not so sure. Now that you have used it a bit, what do you think?

Don't you Aussies have dirt scoop tugs of war with your machines? That's how we resolve the "R1 vs R4" and "Gear vs Hydro" wars!

Seriously, they are used when the scoop is pulled forward in lieu of being pushed in reverse. They are bi-directional but that's socially acceptable here................chim

Nuru, those scoops come in two sizes. Thirty inch wide and 24 inch wide. The thirty inch is the most common. I special ordered a 24 inch at TSC to use with my John Deere 650.

Let's see.....dealer thinks you should buy a $5,000 FEL instead of a $250.00 pond scoop. I think he has your best interests and ONLY YOUR best interests in mind.
