I have a 6 foot 3 point AER-WAY aerator. Weight just under 900lbs. What is a fair (for both of us) rental price for this. There is absolutely none of these around here in Washington state.

1% of it's value per day for a non powered piece of equipment.

That's if you want to take the chance of the item getting damaged. Not that I am being a scrooge. I have loaned out things before and had no problem. Then there are times that things have been damaged. These were friends of mine. It makes me feel bad to make them pay and they feel bad that they damaged it. So now I go with the equipment to run it or they have to try someplace else.

I agree, make whoever it is a fair price and either do it yourself or if you are concerned with liability then let them find someone else.

Here in New Jersey the 3pt. aer way rents for $300.00 a day. To buy the unit I wanted to rent was $8000.00.

This seems about right. I've never rented anything at 1% of cost. Sometimes it is a high as 10% of cost per day. Any one renting at 1% will not be in business long.
