I'm about to purchase a JD 4115 with a 410 loader. We live on a small horse farm. I'd like to be able to dump loads of bedding directly into the horses' stalls (this would eliminate alot of manual labor), but all of the FEL buckets that I have seen are too wide. Does anyone make a narrow bucket that would work for this. How difficult/expensive would it be to have a standard bucket narrowed? The doors are approximately 40" wide. Thanks for your thoughts.

Any decent welding/fabricating shop should be able to narrow a standard bucket or custom make one with larger capacity. (bedding is straw yes? Lightweight stuff anyway) If going this route, I would either get two factory buckets and have one modified or get one factory bucket and have another custom made. Custom will probably be more expensive but you might end up with exactly what you want instead somthing that "sorta works". YMMV

Ok, so how wide are the loader arms on a JD 4115?

Okay, it turns out that the doors are almost exactly 48" wide, so I'm not as tight on space as I thought. Are there any standard buckets that are narrower? The bedding is wood shavings (lighter than sawdust).

Thanks

I have seen 42 inch buckets used for this that were factory buckets. You can have a bucket made as small as you loader arms are wide.

People used to look at my loader funny until they seen it in action.
