Truly sorry to hear about your mishap last weekend. Hope it all works out.
I haven't actually gotten my mower yet. who knows how long it may take. A 6 footer would probably work though. Will your flail give you the same quality cut that you get from the RFM? I've heard the flails are pretty close. Did you get the anti scalping wheel on the RFM? Do you think that my 24 HP can handle the 6'? It has plenty of power but I don't want to push it.

I didn't take into account that you only have 24 hp. Is that engine or pto hp? I only have 25 pto hp, and it works great for me, no bogging. then again I also have one of those obolete gear tractors. Yes I got the front anti-scalp roller. And I would suggest to everyone to invest in it, its worth its weight in blade sharpening. Actually I hadn't made up my mind as to getting rid of this FC RFM yet. But certainly do want to get a new FC flail mower when they come out. I can get the flail mower to give a very nice cut depending on how sharp you keep the knives and the groundspeed you travel at. Plus if you travel slow enough it will mulch your clippings so well you hardly no that the grass was just mowed. The other side of the story is the heavy stuff you can tackle. I have mowed some heavy feild grass, blackberry vines and even chopped up small blown down branches, without having to pick them up.
So are you any closer to working out a solution with Pieter yet? Hope all goes well, and you receive them soon. I've been very busy lately. Maybe you've noticed that even my post here on TBN have slowed down.
