    Default Mott flail mower

Anyone ever heard of this brand? There is a 60" 3pt at an on-line auction near me for $165
( current bid ). I haven't gone to look at it yet but the pictures look ok.

They made the flails for a lot of older tractors. I have a belly flail on my 1950 cub that was made for IH by mott. I was able to get new knives and belt for it without any trouble

I've never seen one myself but they are well known and respected flails. Not sure if they are still made but I'm pretty sure parts are available.

Flail-Master - Mower Replacement Parts, Commercial Riding Mower Parts, Rotary Cutter Parts, Blade grinders, Trimmer Line, Mowing Accessories - Flail Master - Flailmaster - - will have what you need in parts. Mott was bought out by , ohhh, someone big and still in bussiness. Can't remember the name right now.

I bought a Mott flail mower a while back. I believe it is a 7' model for $250. with a bad gearbox. The school system using it apparently never checked the oil. I have since replaced it, sandblasted, added paint, and it is ready for field work next spring.

What's the chances of you picking it up for close to that ?

Seems like a heck of deal as long as it's somewhat sound.

It is an on-line auction and there are 6 bidding days left, so the price may well go up. I'm going on Saturday to look at it and see if it is worthwhile.JP.
