Kubota L4200 and two bottom plow ??

I am planning on planting a few acres of clover food plots this spring and have access to a two bottom plow and disc harrow to prepare the soil, will my L4200 be able to handle the 2 bottom plow? I know this may sound dumb but I have never plowed in my life so this is a new adventure for me, thanks for your help

I think you should be fine. My father has an L3400 and pulls a two bottom plow fine. I think the rule of thumb is one hp per inch of plow.

Hello again Mike...
You will be able to fly with that L4200 and AG/Industrial tires... I have oversized turfs on mine and a two bottom is never a problem...

You will have fun plowing! Check out a website Everything Attachments - Skid Steer Attachments, Tractor Attachments, 3 Point Hitch Attachments for a great instructional video of how to set up a plow and to see it in use. It will help you get started and has some helpful tips. Make sure you bush-hog the field fairly low before you plow as it will plow much cleaner. Although not necessary, an application of round-up beforehand will also give you a neater result, and help eliminate unwanted grasses and weeds. Go fairly slow, say in second gear, and watch out for rocks. Hopefully you plow has some sort of trip protection, such as shear pins. If your soil is like mine, you will need extra pins as you will trip the bottoms. Plowing is about the most fun thing to do with a tractor in my opinion.
