Spoke to Melissa & she recommended a Medium Duty grapple at $1200. Said the light duty on a loader rated over 1400pds lift cap., you could bend it. My tractor is rated at 2200.

Anyone have a link to the medium duty grapple for $1200 Goodluck's talking about here?

Tks

WOW, I was looking into getting a 60" Root Grapple & 42" Pallet Fork deal from Wildkat delivered for around 2K. I'm almost sick of reading about Grapples!!! but great info out here!! After reading I'm now seriously thinking of calling Markham & see what deal I can get on the 48" LD Grapple & Forks. I thought I really wanted the the Double Jaws but everyone seems to be happy with 48" single jaw. I don't want to kill the loader lift with to heavy a grapple, it's rated at 2200. I'm a 15 acre Harry Home Owner & it would be used on the Farm except for maybe a couple of side jobs you pickup once & awhile during the year. If I don't get any replies I understand it's because everybody else is sick of reading about grapples too. Thanks, Guys

Told you so;)

What part of MD are you in?

All I see on there web pages are the Light Duty and the one I bought, which is far from medium duty, its a 66" 800 pound monster.

So I would just like to know the dimensions etc of there medium duty. Tks

I don't know why Markham and WRLong and other grapple makers are so conservative with their recommendations on LD grapples. I suspect they are so focused on skidsteers in commercial environments that they just don't know or consider how CUT owners use grapples. No one that I know of on TBN has complained that they have seriously damaged a light duty grapple. I use a light duty 48" Millonzi on a loader with 2700lbs lift capacity and I've worked it hard (for a CUT) killing brush, digging stumps and moving big rocks and it is going strong after four years.

After months of looking and reading on here I finally took the plunge and bought a Markham 48" light duty. So far i really love it. I couldn't imagine why I would need a wider one. And I think it is robust for what i can dish out, it's better looking in person. I doubt I would ever be able to hurt it and my CT440has 2,600 lift capacity. The 48" should be plenty stout for you.

Mine also showed up at the house quite rusty, the finish sucks, but i didn't care to much.

here are the pic of the grapple. . . its still on the pallet and banded down.

i think that is a lot of rust for a new grapple. now i know that i'm going to beat it up but still kinda makes me sad to get something in like this.

there are a few pics of the tooth bar as well, its also still strapped to the grapple.

I think Markham makes a nice grappel but when looking at your pics their welding is not up to par ( looks like my welding).:D Whoever welded up that unit has little welding experience.

Still may buy one anyway and for most uses the light duty is perfect.

Also a heads up to anyone looking at buying a Markham grapple. If you call Markham they tell you $900 for the LD 48". But you can buy it from them on E-bay for $850. Saves you a quick 50 bucks. Gator Attachments is Markham. I bought mine for $850 then had it shipped to my door in south Bama for $120. $970 for this grapple is one heck of a good deal. I think for all the compliments i get on it I should have bought a couple more and sold them to my friends at a mark-up. haha.

I managed to bend my Markham LD 48" without too much problem. I wouldn't say "seriously damaged" but an annoyance. Eventually I had a big excavator bend it back and then had quite a bit of extra steel welded on. Worked fine since. Kubota 4400.
