Rake What size tires on york rake?

I just got a great deal on a 6ft rake made by Howse from Central Tractor. They don't carry that brand any more and sold this one minus top part of three pt. and missing the tires and yokes for $100.00. Got the top part done already and just need to know what size tires to get and I can weld up the yokes for them. Thanks for any help.

i'm in the process of making a set myself. I have the tires, just waiting for my brother in law to do the welding. I got 10" pneumatics for $17 each from northern Machinery. Rated for 350lbs each, offset caster, zerk fitting and ballbearings on caster. Probably a little overkill but cheap enough. That said if I could have gotten laminated or solid tires instead I probably would have. I've seen way too many flats on landscapers york rakes but figure I won't be using like they do. (Also for $100 I probably wouldn't make up a set myself. I have a woods rake and they wanted $270 for a set!!!)

Von, Harbor Freight also has the 10" pnuematic tires with a swivel mount type frame on it. Don't remember the price off hand.

Thomas, looked in an old Northern catalog and could not find the $17.00 caster wheels you mentioned. Do you have the part #s on the ones you got? They sound like the ones to get.

I'll have to look them up when I get home tonight then I'll post. Harbor Frieght did have what looked to be the same set for about the same price. I'm sure Grainger does too but grainger has several different price lists (bigger discount for regular customers) and I haven't been overy impressed with pricing for us "Normal" retail customers.

How much is a 60" york-style rake with wheels worth (New Holland brand)? How about a 72" manually adjustable rear blade (fairly heavy duty, Hinicker?). Have a chance to buy both used as part of a package, but have vague idea of value.
