RCK54 mower deck won't fit on B7500?

I bought a RCK54-75B mower deck for my B7500 tractor. The mower deck's right hand gauge wheel hits the rear tire no matter what hub arrangement or axle pin hole I use.

The rear tires are 12.5 x 15" turfs. The local dealer came out and turned the hubs in, and out, and tried all the axle pin holes with no success. I am tempted to cut the gauge wheel bracket off the deck and re-weld it outboard another inch or so. An inch would be enough space.

Has anyone dealt with this? Maybe the narrow 54" deck shouldn't be on this tractor?

Mark, I have the B7500 with the 60in MMM. Removing and installing the MMMs are a known issue for the Kubotas for precisely the reason you describe - there just isn't enough space between the wheels to slide the mowers underneath.

The way to solve this is to use the front loader. (You do have the front loader, don't you?) Anyway, push the front loader down to the ground and use it to lift the front wheels of the tractor off of the ground!! No kidding! You can obtain extra lift by angling the bucket.

At this point you can slide the mower out and in, taking advantage of the clearance of the front wheels off of the ground.

If you don't have the FEL, alas, I don't know the solution. Probably a jack of some sort. Hopefully another member can supply the answer on that one.

Darube:

Thanks for the thoughts. My problem is more complicated than that. I think getting the deck on is easy. The problem is: once mounted, the right rear tire (even pinned on the inner axle hole) hits the gauge wheel shaft when the deck is up. Presently I am using it with the hub pushed all the way inboard and no pin in place! I am sure this is not approved by the Kubota engineering staff! When I go out to work the fields and bush-hog; I slide the tire/hub back out, pin it, and clamp it. It's a bit much. I may simply cut the gauge wheel off the deck and re-weld it. I am only lacking an inch or so. Certainly some one out there has had this problem? I'll wait another week or so with hopes the dealer hears from Kubota or I hear from a TBN user.

Thanks, Mark
