I would like to have the ability to drop my bucket off my NH -7308 Loader which is on my NH TC -29 tractor and attach a grapple . I want it on the New Holland since it is small enough to get into the woods with a smaller profile than my JD 3020..My question is where to buy the grapple and cost, will I need an adapter plate of some kind like on a skid steer and where is the best place to get one and will I need to add hydraulics..I have no rear hydraulics only those for the FEL . This is all beyond my knowledge and I would appreciate advice instead of just going into the NH dealer..cold. Thanks much

Bob, don't mean to be short-but all this has been discussed hundreds if not thousands of times! Do some searching, then ask specific questions.

Buying a grapple, adding a circuit and converting to a SSQA will probably cost you $2500 or so...are you ready to spend that?

Terms like these will get you started:

grapple
markham
wr long
diverter
3rd function
ssqa

Everyone is raving about the Wildcats 48 inche grapple for about $600. But then there is the matter of the SSQA adaptor for your loader, My Kubota was $400, but I think the New Holland is about $600 ( I assume you dont have that ) Then getting the bucket converted to SSQA. about $130, for the plate. with you doing all the work. More if you have to pay to have it done of course. You can see my thread about converting my Kubota L3400 last summer here.

Then there is the matter of getting the 3rd function valve set up. The kit is about $750 for the W.R. Long one, if that is the way you want to go. so $2080 and a lot of work, you are all set to grapple with the world:)
Hope this helped.

Like k0ua said, there is a little bit involved but well worth the effort imo. It's such a handy tool you'll wonder why you waited so long to add it.

Are you moving forward Brin?

Another option for you to consider is to go with a "Brush Crusher" offered by Westendorf. This is a way to have most of the functionality of a grapple but you avoid having to add any additional hydraulic lines, valves, etc. You wouldn't have the complete function of a true grapple set up, but might be close enough depending on your needs.

I looked into one, but after contacting them found they don't make them for a loader with a single cylinder for the curl. I think your loader has dual hydraulic arms for curling the bucket so it would work for you.
