Can someone provide some information as to the model of this Bush hog tiller? I can buy it for $800.00 but don't know enough about it to determine if it is good deal or not. The owner says it is about 5 years old. Thanks in advance.

What size is it? Looks to be about 40" (give or take) long.
Any model number showing?
If in near perfect condition, $800 seems fair.

It is advertised as a 42 in. and I did not get the model number (I intend to go back and try to get a model number). It is not in perfect condition, the rear shield is bent a little, but the tines appear to be in good shape.

Rear shields bend easy. If the tines are good then means not many hours. What size tractor do you intend to use it behind?

Turn the PTO shaft and make sure the tine shaft turns with it. Should move smoothly.

I plan to use it with a BX 2200. It has been used with a Ford 1100 (13 HP). Hopefully I will get a chance to do some more looking today, Thanks for the advice about turning the shaft, I will try that also.

It looks like there is still plenty of paint on the tines and they don't appear to be warn in that tiny picture. In my neighborhood an $800 tiller in that good shape would sell in 15 seconds or less.

Rear shield no big deal, as others have said try and see it working on tractor or if you can turn shaft by hand. Tines you said look OK
I have a 48" and have had no complaint what so ever !!!!
Us it 6 or 7 times a yr or more tilling 3 different gardens.

Good luck
