Hi All!

I'm hoping someone here (maybe FWJ) can help me out. I've had my eye on a Case 3 bottom 3-point plow with shear bolt shanks and 14" bottoms that's been sitting at the local Massey dealer for several months. I finally took the plunge and bought it on Saturday. I've already broken it down completely for sandblasting and painting, but I know little about it. I believe it is an "EX" series plow as it has "EXC 14" stamped on the back of all three moldboards. Structurally the plow is in incredible shape with some surface rust. I believe all the wear parts are originals as they still have signs of Case "flambeau red" on the hidden surfaces. I spent the past several days Googling but cannot come up with any literature, either operator's manuals or parts books for this plow. I've been using "case ex series" in my searches. Am I on the right track to finding literature, or does this plow labeled something different? Any information would be most helpful. I'll try to post some pictures. Thanks in advance.

Steve

Thanks for the reply. I've tried eBay, SSB, and Tractorpartsinc among others. Just having a hard time locating what I'm looking for. I'll keep looking and maybe something will turn up.

You are probably better of with this web site for your plow information. It is dedicated to antique tractors and equipment.

What is it you are trying to find out?
How to hook it up? How to adjust it to plow? Where to buy parts (like for that coulter that lays loose on top)? Or just to make the purchase more complete?

Are you the Deputy Sherriff? :D

I'd like to have a parts manual. I broke the plow down and would like to be able to order new bolts, washers, nuts, etc. without having to actually measure everything (although i've already done most of my materials list to replace the hardware). The coulter on top is complete. I think the last person that used the plow removed the third coulter and third bottom to make the plow a two-bottom.

I am, in fact, an underpaid, under appreciated deputy sheriff. ;)

Hope you all don't mind me bringing up a "dead" thread. I still haven't been able to locate exactly what I was looking for with respect to literature on my plow. But I did break the plow down completely and a buddy (TBN member mcd176) and I sanded down the parts which he primed and painted. I bought all new hardware and reassembled as a two bottom. Thought I'd share some photos of the finished product. I wanted to take pictures during the stripping and repainting process but got lazy. I think all and all the finished product turned out pretty well.

Wow that really turned out great! Very nice job restoring it. And to top it all off, it does a nice job of plowing too. :)

That is really a nice plow. Glad some people take the time to do that type restoration. Not to be picky, but, I would replace that rear landslide or take a 1/2 inch think piece of flat stock and weld it to the one that is feathered out. That will make it hold in the furrow even better. Ken Sweet

Thanks for the compliments guys. Ken, I've got the landside heel and cross brace that finishes off the rear landside. When I ordered all the plow bolts, I forgot to order the long ones that I need to attach the heel and brace. Since I was dying to get the plow in the ground, I went without. Next time the plow is in the ground I'll have the heel on.
