I use the Woods model and it is tough. I've only broke one sheer pin this past season ;)

Hey guys, looking to buy a rotary cutter in the new few weeks. Either a 42" or a 48". Its going on my BX2660. The landpride is model RCR1542. The woods is model RCC42. Any opinions on what one might be a better buy? Whats strange is the woods cutter weighs in at 350lb, while the land pride is a stout 432lb. That doesnt make sense to me since the woods has 11 guage frame and the Landpride has 12 guage. Both have the same gearbox rating (50hp). Both are available in Kubota orange.

I want to make the purchase soon, before the significant other spends all our tax rebate money!!! ;)

Thanks for all the opinions.

Andy

edit: I can get the landpride for a better price, $849 vs. $1,300 for the Woods.

Check the blade specs. On the smaller woods cutters the blades are not 1/2" thick. That could account for some of the weight difference.

I ran a 1542 on my B7500 for years. Its a well built cutter, a steal @ the price you posted!!!
