But now that we're talking about the EA Extreme Duty grade blade, I have a question for EA and other grader experts:

I get the use of the sides: They make the grader blade more like a box blade and keep material in.

But what do the skid shoes do? What's their purpose? If Ted mentioned them in the ED grader blade video, I missed it. I did just notice in the pics that they have a ton of adjustment via the 9 holes.

And if any of you goofballs come in here and say "you gots to have'em!", I'm hunting you down and, oh I don't know, maybe grade your driveway or something.

Having said that, shipping for the shoes to 35758? :)

I believe they set the depth of the cut and give you more control so you don’t accidentlh gouge your road up

Mr. Brett is totally correct. It keeps it from digging in more than desired in gravel, concrete or other surfaces.

Ok gotta a question for EA, and any grader blade experts as well:

Pic of EA's ED grader blade direct from their website:

And here's a pic of my EA ED 8' grader blade:

Anyone see a difference?

Forget the sides, look at the top link connection.

Yours has the option of a sliding top link connection, which is very handy if you are using skid shoes or gauge wheel and do NOT have a hydraulic toplink with the ability to float.

However, your blade doesn’t look as heavily built as the first one you posted?
