Help - what is this and where can I buy one?

Does anyone know what this is called and where I could buy one? It looked exactly what I needed to rework my pastures after the disc work. I was told it was mfg by John Deere. However, I never got to inspect it in person. All I have are these pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciate. I asked the guy who sold it before I got there and he didn't know what it was. He just flipped it for a quick profit. Said he paid $450 for it and flipped it for $950.

My guess is a spike tooth harrow. However, I can't track anything like it down on the internet. Any links, pointers, leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is a heavy harrow/spike tooth harrow.

Arena rakes look different depending on the manufacturer, it seems, but I have seen some that look exactly like that.

Do a search for arena rake and you'll find some similar and might find something that will work better.

Yes, it's a spike toothed harrow. But it looks like the original teeth have been replaced with rebar, and I don't see any provisions whatsoever to angle the "teeth". Whoever paid $950 for it must have had a lot more money than sense. As pictured, I personally wouldn't want it at any price.

Thanks for the replies -- especially about the spike teeth and price. What I'm looking for is something to help smooth out my pastures. I sprigged coastal 5 years ago. Before sprigging, I had disc and drug with a railroad iron. It was really nice to me. When I sprigged, it created small mounds/rows. We got a 9" downpour and washed the topsoil and rutted everything. I have 9-12" ruts now. I can't mow without a seat belt. Have not even tried to put th bailer on it b/c it is so rough.

I've lived on this land all my life. My parents did not have the money to purchase equipment or have the land maintained. Now that I can save up and get equipment, I am commited to restore the land and maintain it. Teach my kids to maintain it for their kids. Any advise and sharing your experience on how to remove those ruts would be appreciated. I would like to bail it. I have a 90hp tractor and a 10ft tandem disc. If I need to purchase something, I can save and get it within reason. Please advise on how to fix the ruts. Thanks.

A 10' disc will help with the overall leveling, but it's not going to be very effective on the ruts. I had a careless backhoe operator here a few weeks back, and he put some terrible ruts into a couple of locations in my pasture. I gave the soil about 10 days to dry out, then went at the ruts with my box blade. A little pasture mix on top of the dirt work, and it will be good as new in about six weeks.

in the UK this implement is known as a 'Dutch Harrow'.I use one of these behind the tractor when we are going to seed what was a corn field back to grass.on the front there is a wooden levelling board followed by 4 rows of height adjustable spikes.when used correctly i can achieve a seedbed for the seed as level as a football field,a highly underated piece of kit.

I built a 3 pt spike tooth harrow last year with the teeth fixed at 45 degrees out of some extra steel I had laying around. Used it this weekend to cover seed while planting grass. Works well enough, you can build one easily for $150 bucks roughly, it is better to have adjustable teeth but I am satisfied with mine.
